    zippy
    an honest question
if we are selling out 52 k a week how can you say folk have given up going

i accept 10k were given away but they were still taken

i was at the game yesterday
    the pubs were stuffed full

    the ground was buzzing

maybe do you not think its these positive fans we should be trying to attract to the forum

not the constant knockers of a footy club of fans you want to attract to a toon forum

why would anyone with a positive thought of the toon come on here?

any ositive posts or threads of the manager the team the position in the league etc are just clogged up with negativity

and here we are with 10 posters maybe

maybe its not the teams predicament or position why the forum isnt as active as it was but the constant negativity

we had loads more posters the season we got relegated and the couple of seasons before that

    just an observation

Huh? Clearly 10 000 or more are staying away. Do I not count as staying away because my seat's been taken?

As for the forum, we talked about this the other day. I agree with Kev-internet forums aren't the thriving places they once were but, like it or not, there are some posters who stay away because of the constant bickering where the common denominator is yourself (and note-I'm not getting into a blame-game, I'm just stating a fact). As for wanting 'positive' posters, we don't look for a 'type'. All we want are Newcastle fans who want to talk about their club and if they hold their views genuinely and aren't saying things just to wind up posters who hold the opposite (or a differing) view then they're more than welcome.

There aren't many fans who feel positive about our club at the moment and that's reflected in the type of posts people put up-folk come on here to blow off a bit of steam about something close to their hearts-which is why things can blow up when posters feel that you're deliberately stating the opposite to get their backs up. Being absolutely honest here-and I always try to be-I do appreciate the positivity in your posts. I used to be a lot more positive on here but that was because there were things to be positive about-and I think most of us are the same-but as a forum we need a counter-balance to the negativity because it's easy to lose sight of any positives when there are so many negatives (as most of us see them)

Having said that (and I'm sure you'll disagree) you may not like to admit it but we're not stupid-we know there are times when you do say things to stoke the fire. You've contradicted yourself on so many occasions when you're trying to have a go at a poster or their comments that I've lost count. You've put people's backs up to the extent that any genuine positivity about the team and the club is either tainted or totally obscured by people's suspicions about why you're saying it. If you put up your positive posts without also having a go at folk who hold the opposite view then you'd find they were received a lot better than they are. Nobody wants to be negative about our club but that's the way the majority of us feel -certainly, on here, the vast majority. Feel free to find a forum where everyone is as positive as you...but I think you'll struggle.

There you go. Just my observations.

trouble is zippy yo have gone with the flow

there are so many positives to take from our team
but people get into the politics they get bogged down by the balance books
they want the team to fail so they can have a go at ash and bruce

people say we are in a relegation fight
we are 5 points away from relegation
    and 5 frm a top 10

no need to be suspicious about my thinking
i want the team to do well

    i will support the toon
i wont be swayed to become a sheep and give up folowing the team i have supported through thick and thin
whoever owns it or whoever manages it

look at yesterdaty a sell out as are the next few home games lads put a shift in ,the manager tried something different ,we didnt conceed ,we are the same points away from relegation as we were friday

yet the neg heads start post up on post of doom

if people cant handle others having a differing view then this board will never take of again

as i say you have peolpe like you who have given up yet you have 52k who havent
and they wont come on here as they wont get the chance to post their honest opinion

im sure many look in and see the negativity and think i wont bother
ill just go to the game with like minded people

There it is in a nutshell.

I honestly don't know why I bothered. There you go again...calling people sheep as if they've no independent thought of their own just because they have a different point of view from yours? People have a go because the team are failing because of Ashley and Bruce and...ah, bollocks, I give up.

About negativity. People/posters in general can only be negative about a negative situation.

In 75 years of supporting this club I've witnessed some horrific situations. Being in the old 2nd division and scraping escape from the 3rd tier at the last minute befor the axe was due to fall.

I've witnessed some terrible managers along with a few bad owners and some shocking players not fit to, but pulling the famous black and white shirt on which disgusts me when I think of the famous players who have graced the shirt with pride, from Hughie Gallacher, Jackie Milburn, Bobby Mitchell and Joe Harvey from earlier eras up to the likes of Supermac, Shearer, Gazza, Jonas, Steve Watson etc.

But the one thing which gets my back up about the present as opposed to those bad times I've just quoted is that in the past, and even at the very low ebb there was always, always belief and hope that we were better than the then current bad situation we were in and that we would soon pull out of it and return to where we belonged.

I honestly cannot see this happening until this club is shot of this lecherous and evil owner.

    no pat

    every negative has a posative

you dont have to keep focusing on the negatives .
    focus on the posatives

we are in the prem ,not going down ,not about to be axed or go out of buisness and never will under ash

so all tse reasons you had to be negative wont happen under ash

he has always done neough to get us back up

maybe not done enough to keep us up at times

i honestly feel the club is doing ok

it aint pretty i will grant you that

    but the ground is full
    we aint going down
we have amanger trying different things

but a lot of why we are where we are is Rafa getting rid of carr ,mistertrick etc

our transfers since carr was discarderd has been awfull

and all so Ra£a could have full control

but it aint as bad as some think

the ground was buzzing the pubs were buzzing
    what more do you want

Try having a positive view when your head is on the block, your hands clamped and legs locked down and the executioner has already honed his axe.
