It wasn't a Hospital though was it? looked more like a big shed with rows of beds,no medical gear beside the beds. The last Hospital they had to build quick, they left it when the crisis was over

.. I certainly don't dream of being part of the red dictatorship. China has carried out economic rape across the globe, particularly controlling the sourcing of commodities. Can't quite believe anyone is impressed by the lifestyle of most Chinese people working in production ... sweat shops and the like.
It is time for this country to begin rebuilding our production base, training engineers and producing more home grown food - not difficult and will take time. No need for the doom merchants to say it can't be done.

Lots of Countries have been suffering with diseases such as ebola etc and famine for years and the world mostly looks the other way but as soon as the western world is affected with a nasty virus, we pull out all the stops - no expense spared !! - We are all hypocrites.

I don't think anyone on here has expressed unswerving support for their regime in general terms, but the fact then when they mobilised, they did it with extreme speed, seriousness and efficiency that would be impossible here considering we're as per quote last night from our glorious leader " looking to flatten the sombreo" or in his conversations on conference call with the manufacturing industry bosses is taking it so seriously he joked he should call it "operation last gasp."
The half arsed approach last night about 'don't go to pubs, restaurants etc...' "Are you going to officially shut them so the insurance can kick in for these businesses?" "Oh no. I trust people won't go so they'll be fine!!!"

All smacks of a different approach to alot of other countries...apart from possibly America and Trump.......

I see Trump has apparently called covid 19 a Chinese disease. It hasn't gone down well with them.

It's worse here, AMLO the Mexican president was out shaking hands and kissing babies over the weekend, totally laid back (same as his openly declared stance to the cartels, where he says "non-confrontation" is the answer)....it's weird, nobody around here with masks, no panic buying (apart from me stacking up with beer), even my girlfriend (a senior administrator covering all the free hospitals and clinics in a huge state) is totally laid back.
When I initially warned her this was spreading (mid-feb?) her attitude was "it's only another form of flu, we'll worry about it when it gets here"...mind you, that's the typical attitude here, I thought mañana meant tomorrow, but it apparently means "sometime in the future"
Here's AMLO kissing babies and snogging his adoring fans https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IwhJj064ddQ

The laid back attitude anywhere now is a bad idea imo.
I’m waiting for this Country to sort out the financial package.
France last night cancelling all mortgages, rent, water bills, taxes, electricity and gas bills etc...for period of time.

What do we get...” try not to go the pub with your mates!”
