I am sure that they are all doing their best and I wonder who you think would have done the job any better? I suspect that you are a Corbyn sycophant, I am so pleased that we don’t have him trying to run the country. Don’t criticise people in these circumstances who have such an unenviable job and clearly doing the best that they can; I am confident in saying that you couldn’t do any better. By the way, I didn’t vote for this government either. It seems, 123, that you are a bigoted individual and your best course of action at this time would be, to be polite, to ‘button it’.
    Interesting turn of events,

I'm not new to criticising the Tories. I've constantly said on here for a long time before this crisis that they have chronically underfunded public services. We all have our viewpoints, you think I should 'button it' because we have a difference of opinion. Could that be deemed as 'bigoted'? Your suspicions are incorrect, I didn't vote for Labour or the Tories, so I suspect that in all likelihood we probably voted for the same party at the last election.

The difference between us is that you think that the Government is not open to scrutiny or criticism because of this pandemic. You also think as long as they are doing 'the best they can' then that is enough. In my view, it is not enough, we should have competent people in Government, with exception to Sunak I don't think that has been the case.

Can you imagine the uproar if Diane Abbott had got the numbers wrong in the same way as what Priti Patel did at the weekend...And that is what frustrates me, the rank hypocrisy that exists.

Interesting bit at the end of last nights update when the BBC quickly went around four of their Asian correspondents in China, South Korea, Singapore and Japan. All with very different idea on lockdowns, testing, tracking contacts etc but all them I quote "much much more successful at reducing the number of deaths than Europe or the USA" Final comment was "they have a culture of wearing face masks is that the reason? The truth is no one knows"

Certainly in China and Singapore their govts have direct access to everyone's phone so tracking is much easier. You can imagine the uproar from the civil liberties brigade if we suggested anything close to it here. Personally I have no problem with anyone knowing where I am. Except perhaps the wife.

The Tory party typically only care about their PR, especially in a disaster like this. That's why they'll be reasonably happy that most front pages are headlined by Boris Johnson and his recovery, rather than the 5000+ people who have died this week. In time there will no doubt be an inquiry, asking why we have had so many deaths in comparison to countries like Germany and Ireland. And the truth, as always, will come out.

I have zero sympathy with them. My sympathy is with the stretched NHS and frontline workers.
Don't you think my sympathy is with the NHS workers as well? I am not looking to score political points like you. Any party that was in Government right now who was getting advice from the scientists and medical advisers would be in EXACTLY the same boat. You cant just criticise, Imagine if we just said "Ok 123 you are in charge now, what are you going to do"? You would crap yourself, and so would any of those newspaper reporters. Have some respect.
