Ram does go a bit lateral there but his first paragraph is spot on, law enforcement HAVE to be allowed to profile or they don’t stand a chance - or next time there’s a stabbing they have no choice but to consider my bed bound uncle Cyril as much of a suspect as the demographic who seem to regard carrying a knife as a fashion issue.

Clearly...if two black kids in hoodies have committed a crime or two white youths in Derby County shirts are suspected of a similar offence then the police are looking for individuals who fit that description.

Dawn Butler is a fifty year old black woman who happened to be being driven in a nice car by her black male companion...likewise the week before, two black Olympians - and their baby - were stopped in similar circumstances.
If, as seems likely, both incidents involved individuals being stopped on the basis of skin colour alone then it really isn’t difficult to see how racially based resentment grows.
