I'm not sure that sitting down with a cup of Bovril and a Pukka Pie is quite the desired impression haha.

Maybe there'll be a resurgence in mobile refreshments

    You presume correctly.

Over here the tax authorities have their own slant on things. If I was working away and having to stay overnight in a hotel, I could claim the cost of the hotel stay as being tax deductible from my company profits (if self employed). My meals wouldn't be as they go on the premise that I would eat if I was at home......

Conversely, if I was employed and my boss sent me away, I could expense hotel and food but not drinks and my boss could set the bill against profit for tax purposes.

Both products originated in Burton. Marmite a by-product of the brewing industry and Bovril was a beef derivative. Bovril changed its content when Thatcher (mad cow) disease hit the UK and it is now a "beef flavoured" but vegetarian product.

I don't buy Bovril but do buy Marmite. I prefer it as a hot drink to Bovril. I have it as part of a cheese and Marmite sandwich and also use it as an ingredient for some soups and sauces.

I thought it was just me that makes cheese and marmite sandwiches! Love them, especially with a salty crumbly cheese like Cheshire or wendslydale

Did you know Bovril was "invented" by John Johnson - yep, finally managed to get a chance to blame Johnson after less than 30 strands.....
