PS - in the main, I think way too few people are giving Barrow the kudos they deserve for the way they kept to their game plan. Defend en masse and hope for a breakaway. They had 2 of them in the first half and only excellence from Roos, helped by a slight nudge from Evans on one of them kept Barrow from taking the lead. Both chances came from us giving the ball away.

We struggled to break down well organised sides 2 years ago when we had Wilson and Mount and those 2 are miles better than anything we currently have. Some people's expectations need revising down.

More worrying for rA is Derby’s rumoured interest in Shrewsbury’s ex-Rangers player Jason Cummings

Looking at yesterday, Lowe made a fist of playing RB when we were forced to play him there. I rate Buchanan as being a better LB than Lowe now and he can get much better IMO. At RB, of the two, I much prefer Lowe. Buchanan showed yesterday that he really is one footed. Every pass was backwards. There were a few times when he got the ball and had both the time and space to go down the outside. He didn't. Late on after the reshuffle he was back on the left and showed why he's been a regular since the back end of last season.

Playing tippy tappy can be great if you're moving the ball forward but playing it in your own half for the majority of the game gets everyone frustrated, especially me! Marriott and Sibley had no chance of putting the ball in the net as we can't get the ball to them. I'd rather us find a better way of playing football rather than spend on a players who will be told to play this style of football. Can't believe Mel is happy with these performances unless this is the new Derby way!

Agreed. I couldn’t honestly introduce this style of play to a youngster and say ‘you’re watching the beautiful game’

You couldn’t have done that under Rowett, Jim Smith’s pre Stimac days or Billy Davies’ promotion season (when the football was successful but pretty dire) either Andy.

We need some ‘missing pieces’...agreed, but they’re said to be on the way.
We all seem to have forgotten about the extra money that may be coming in having also been disrupted by those EFL charges, and at least we won’t have to send the reserves to play Forest in the next round of the Carabao Cup this year...because one of us isn’t in it.
