Very bad news indeed. Condolences to his family and friends.

Quality player who could not only play but he scared the sh it out of defenders too. He was one of those players that if he stayed down after a tackle he was really hurt and not putting it on. He was as tough as he was skillful and he was very very skillful.

A Millers Legend for sure. R.I.P Trever.

Only just reading the news and saddened to read of Tricky Trev’s passing away. RIP..... once a Miller always a Miller.

This really has hit home. I'm floored by this news.

Along with Dave Gwyther, Trevor Phillips was my first Millers hero when my Dad starting taking me in the mid 70s. What a sad loss, and taken far too early.

Hardly ever missed a match through injury, very solid and reliable player and a handful for any defenders.

At times he was almost unplayable for a defender, small quick and brave, and as I said should have played at the top level.....again R.I.P TREV X

Thanks for the many fond memories, Trev. One that stands out is Villa Park, 1971, 30,000 supporters. Pre-kick off a fearful noise from the home fans of 'bring on the champions'. Post-match virtual silence. Result Villa 1 Rotherham 2 and inevitably one from Trevor Phillips. A great day, a great player, sadly missed.
