I think he’s having a go at the fans because he has nowhere to turn - selected as a front for the whole rotten organisation and knowingly taking it on but after 18 months of justified criticism, he can’t cope with it. He doesn’t deliver with results that would put a bit of an end to it and he can’t say we try to attack but just aren’t getting the results. None of the senior players particularly seem to back him and it seems to be on a rota basis that they get wheeled out and give half arséd, limp excuses but don’t talk the manager up. He’s effectively out there on his own, totally out of his depth as a coach, manager and diplomat and can’t take the criticism that is justifiably aimed at him because he doesn’t have the answers. Was bound to happen at some point and he’s just lucky there are no crowds because the atmosphere would’ve been toxic long before now. We’re likely to lose the next two league games and go out the cup so it’ll be the same cycle of excuses and more fan pressure so expect this to go on. If he fûcks up against Sheffield Utd after those games and comes out with the same utter bôllocks, he’ll certainly have some more questions asked by us. Anywhere else he’d surely be sacked in those circumstances but I honestly don’t think he will be here.

He won't though, he won't be sacked.

24% possession in the last match against Man City. Around the same against Brentford.

Hopeless and clueless, tactic-less and technically inept, stealing a living.

Classic Bargain basement Sweatshop Garbage horse $hite manager.

Im convinced Bruce will be gone by the end of Jan, Ashley always sticks by his puppets as they cause him no grief, once his cash cow is in trouble of losing its money spinning revenue stream he acts and its always too late.

THIS time it is completely different. He has a court case going on, he has a willing buyer at 300 million, he wants the deal.
Its no good to him if he wins in court or by any means the PL are found to be in the wrong but we are relegated, he loses the deal.

He will protect this potential takeover more than protect Bruce, it wouldn't surprise me if he was already getting his trusted few to find a new manager so he can act quickly

Talking of quotes - brilliant article in NUFC.com:

    Reversing into
    the future

    Steve Bruce, June 23rd 2020:

"Can we finish in the top 10?. That’s got to be our challenge. That would be a wonderful achievement, and that’s all I’m focused on at the minute.”

    Steve Bruce, July 27th 2020:

"If someone said at the start of the season 'would you be happy to finish with seven teams below you?' we'd have taken that.

"But that's not enough. We want to push for the top 10 on a regular basis and not look over our shoulders."

    Steve Bruce, October 31st 2020:

"We’d all love to be competing where the club was 20 years ago or whenever it was.

"But the way we are at the minute we have to accept that’s the way it is and try to keep moving inch-by-inch closer to what we’re trying to do – which is definitely finish in the top 10.”

    Steve Bruce, December 23rd 2020:

"If you're a club like ours that expects to be in the bottom half of the Premier League, it's always tough.

"My remit is to make sure Newcastle remain a Premier League outfit, and that's what I'll try to achieve. That's where we've been for the last two or three years.

"Of course for Newcastle, in many people's eyes that isn't enough, but that's where we are."

PS: We can't claim credit for these, but top googling to those who spotted:

    Steve Bruce, December 26th 2020:

"We had a bad week, and some of the mass hysteria (from Newcastle fans) in my opinion was unjust, unfair, and a lot of it was not right in my opinion."

    Steve Bruce, September 25th 2017:

"Of course here, at a club like ours, it turns into mass hysteria (from Aston Villa fans). A couple of bad results and all of a sudden it's the end of the world again.

    Steve Bruce, August 26th 2011:

“It shows you how difficult it is up here. The mass hysteria (from Sunderland fans), I find some of it pathetic, to be honest."

The bloke isn’t normal, not right in the head, can’t be - definitely on some sort of spectrum.

    Aye, read that...very well put-together.

The fact that he's used the same phrase 3 times is insane! It means he is feeling the pressure massively but also shows that he hasn't a clue...he genuinely thinks the criticism is unfair...which is baffling and worrying in equal measure.

Always a sign when a manager starts reusing excuses
