.....''All we need to how is whether Sean likes it enough to stay or prefers Palace''?
With these new conditions, it would be wise to stay. It's a new challenge, almost ''just be careful and wise , here is your check book'' Only some family problems could stop him from staying ,but as a challenge ,''be a man ,go for it!''
Listened to the whole interview, he came across as a reasonable and approachable person. As a BFC supporter we will have a better view of him at the end of this problematic season.
He intimated that Sean Dyche would have the final say on incoming transfers, and I hope that we will see some new players with the quality that is needed.
In the light of recent transfer window’s we have seen some incoming player who can at best be described as being in the twilight of their careers, I do not know whether they were Sean Dyche’s choice or he was just told we had signed them hopefully by the end of this current transfer window we will see which way we are heading. I hope we are looking at quality players who can fit into our first team and also have a long term future with BFC.
I liked him, his approach and ideas. I do hope it works for us all, him, Sean, the club, the players, the town, the fans and the community.
It’s early days and his in laws analogy was very appropriate, you start off with friendliness and great hopes and time will tell if it’s a happy marriage as stresses and strains arise. Will Sean be happy with Garlick still on the Board I wonder?
The fly in the ointment for me is how much is he costing the club in loan interest (sustainable he said -at current levels of income - pre Covid?) how much will he and his associates take from the club in dividends, travel costs and expenses (a set of new outgoings) and charges for their IT company systems. How will transfer fees be funded (more loans or will it be the status quo. Will we pay higher salaries to retain players or will we still sell to survive.
No one asked these questions yet
He really is a friendly smiling Glazier who seems to have put all of £7.50 into shares that bought the club with our money and based on our clubs value
One for the PL is how can a £10 company buy out and take control of a £200m club?
No, missed it OC, very rarely do I watch BBC News. I assume the Bowland Brewery chap was James Warburton, an astute businessman, not many pies round here James doesn't have his finger in, but I know several people who work for him, or have worked for him, and I'm glad I don't have to.
On the financing of the deal, I don't know, this sort of stuff goes way above my head, but Garlick seems happy enough with it, and his priority has always been the long term financial security of the club, so if Garlick is happy then I see no reason to lose sleep over it. In this respect I do have faith in Mike.
He didn't go into much detail, but he kept emphasising the global reach of the EPL, he said, in effect, that it was the number one sports league on the planet. I got the impression that he thinks there is so much more they can do to expand our turnover using the global appeal of the league we play in, and he may well be right, we're amateurs compared to some PL clubs on making money in that area, and not just amateur but positively Neanderthal in our approach compared to American Football, Baseball, Ice Hockey and Soccer clubs.
You’re probably right on both fronts Sinkov though Mike has got his £100m cake and eaten it by still being on the board.
Selling Burnley as you’re favourite town / underdog PL side would be novel.
Maybe we can have four quarters as we had with drinks breaks, so fans can buy 3 pies and pints a game lol.
