Hi Islay, tdb forum has very strict no politics rule, which is best for that forum, IMO. As for the Ninewells deaths I think there must be more to the statistic but unless the discussion comes onto this forum I don't think there's much chance of discussing it.

I know someone who works at Ninewells in a relatively senior position. She tells me the ICU has never been stretched and that deaths due to Covid are not nearly as high as people might imagine.

I think this is a very common perception. I imagine if your contact is one of the large number of staff involved in ICU there will be lots and lots of people who have been given a similar message. It isn't difficult to see this message being replicated right throughout Britain. There is a difference between the way things feel when you are at the coalface, as it were, and being part of the management team.

All fair enough replies lads I’m still no sure if what the government are doing is the right thing or not it definitely seems excessive at times and when I read stuff like I did yesterday saying keep everything shut until may I just think surely no, after everything we’ve had to deal with regarding lockdown for the last 9 months I can understand people’s frustrations, you guys to me have put forward you’re reasons for your take on the matter and I can definitely see where you’re coming from infact I do think some of these things myself at times but I don’t suppose the covid 19 situation is gonna be solved on DeeMad but it’s good to hear the thoughts of you guys as I work with a couple of conspiracy theorists and there a conspiracy for everything that happens in the world and it’s a hard listen at times

Sorry, don't think anyone who posts on here is a covid denier. They question the treatment that is being prescribed by both Boris and Nicola.
