Saw the flowers on the road side when I drove past today. RIP. Could be any of us.

I saw it a couple of days ago on the same bit of road.

I was following an artic (but well back) on the inside lane heading away from town, just before the KFC junction. We were doing about 45. A car sped up past me overtaking the truck. Another car pulled out of the KFC junction to cross the carriageway and turn right. He could track the speed of the truck but couldnt see the car approaching on the outside hidden by the artic and travelling twice as fast. It was a near miss by fractions that would have mangled 2 cars and a truck.

Id have stopped in time but sh*t myself. Not sure how the drivers felt.

Apologies MT, the name of the jailed drunk driver is Thomas Edgar (27). You would have thought being banned once for drink driving he might have learned something but, drink drivers are often selfish to the core and don't give a s.hit as in this very tragic case. He claimed he had drunk 6 or 7 cans before giving his mate a lift.

Been reading what Bramley said about the vehicle involved, report confirmed a motor cycle, & that the rider hit a lamp post.

When behind a lorry / wagon / artic, if you can't see his mirrors, the driver can't see you, take care.
