Doesn't look like a done deal yet. It'll be typical if we miss out on this deal. Let's hope it does get over the line as he would be a great addition.

    MAITLAND-NILES LATEST...

"Ainsley Maitland-Niles will be a bit of a coup for West Brom if they get it over the line. At the start of the day, West Brom were probably fourth place out of four clubs in the chase for him. Southampton, Leicester and Newcastle were all reportedly interested in him.

"But for various reasons, it is West Brom who look like they've come out on top. They've agreed a loan deal for Maitland-Niles with Arsenal and he is currently on his way up to West Brom to complete the deal.

"We understand that he completed his medical down in London and West Brom just need him to sign that paperwork."

UPDATE - 90 minutes to get the deal over the line
    -------------

    CALM BEFORE THE STORM...

Sky Sports News' Midlands reporter Rob Dorsett:

"West Brom have less than one hour and 35 minutes to complete the loan signing of Ainsley Maitland-Niles and it's one they've been working on for a good while now. At the start of the day, it looked unlikely but now we've reached the period where we wait and it's pretty silent.

"I've been speaking to people close to the club and the player and of course all those people are now busy trying to get the deal done so it's all gone very quiet. For West Brom, it's now a race against time. It would be a coup if they get it done, but the next hour and a half will be absolutely critical."

I knew Rob Dorsett, he played with/for me on my Sunday league football team.

Well, we've got him! He should be an asset to us but where are the defenders that we needed?
