“When we are safely over the pandemic we need to protest about this, we can start preparing for it now and when it’s safe we will start the protest” This isn’t a difficult concept.
It’s not difficult no, also it’s not difficult to see in plain daylight what is going on. I can understand the bill being proposed (which i’m sure you’ve gone through yourself and not from a paper) to stop certain protesters from gluing themselves to a lamppost or road, this is obscene and right the law makes this illegal. How the hell do you explain the noise issue caused by protests? You’ve got your daily drip of RW media and come on the defensive. You all forget that the opening post here was of an article of the daily mail. You just can’t make any of this up. Get some bloody education Boing and take those rose tinted specs off.

Having read through this thread and a previous thread regarding vigils/protests etc. it appears some are confused with where they stand in relation to these gatherings. On the one hand they understand the reason and are sympathetic to the gatherings and on the other they suggest using force to break them up!

There you go again Regis, questioning people's intelligence because they don't have the same opinion as you. Any of us with differing opinions are right wing, Daily Mail readers. I can assure you that I am not. Talking of intelligence, I'd bet my bottom dollar that many of those protestors will be those selfish individuals who can't wait to go on their summer hols. to areas of Europe where infection rates are 'going through the roof'. Makes me wonder which one of them has got the brain cell for the day. If I had my way I'd ban all non essential foreign travel, both in and out of the country, until we really are on top of this problem and that's certainly not this summer. Tell me, what's more important, a week in Benidorm or the safety of the British public. Talk about brains!!

I think we’re both arguing different points here and i’m not sure what point you’re trying to make or which of my point you are questioning.

My issue is with this new bill going through and one of the aspects in particular is noise being a factor that determines if your protest is illegal or not. This is ridiculous. This post thread is about the London protests and people protesting about this new bill. If this thread isn’t about that, we’ll i’m making this point about this new bill going through.

I will reiterate, there is still no reports of spikes from all of these protests we’ve seen. If there was, it would have been all over the news.

You might think im anti police, far from it. I think on the whole our police have a difficult job on their hands but do a remarkable job. But this thing with noise being brought in for when protests occur? Really?

As to the question of what’s more important, benidorm or public safety.. well i’ve stated on another thread that we should only be allowed to go to a country that has a successful vaccination programme. But i’ve also agreed about holidaying in the UK and that when restrictions ease, people just need enjoy the UK as that itself would feel like some holiday. Public safety is more important.

How do you know those protesters are those that are keen for a holiday? Where are these facts? it’s seems as though you’ve plucked this out of thin air.

Each to their own!

I really can't see the benefits of a holiday in this country as been all over and it does nothing for me. Even Centre Parcs is a complete rip off and you are slumming it to what you could get overseas. Maybe it's me but nothing worse than staying in this country!

I agree though Europe offers little apart from educational places such as Rome with kids going with you. I just love the heat so probably biased.
I pay a little into the holiday fund each month. It's called a mortgage. Back garden again for us this year with the 'occasional' glass of wine and hopefully at least as much sun as last year.

May splash out on a paddling pool and a couple of bags of sand. Very chilled, cheap and not a single lucky lucky man in sight. I'm easily contented, no protest from me 😊 .

Regis, I suppose my main point is your continual stating that those who disagree with you are lacking in intelligence. For example 'Get some education Boingy'.
Regarding the protests, well there's so many differing aspects that are cause for conjectur that it's probably better that we leave it at that.

It’s so disappointing not being able to get to Spain or Portugal this year.......I desperately wanted to get my hair braided and buy myself a £15 Rolex.

When all this over (which i doubt so long as this wretched Government is in place) then we can all get back to where we left off - Climate Emergency. Does anyone seriously believe this is still a thing?

I wouldn’t be slating anybody if they at least were skeptical of their own beliefs or exploring/questioning what is put in front of them. For example, those saying that they’re glad they voted Brexit and seeing exports and imports suffering and the answer being ‘oh we can trade with the rest of the world’ logic, is where there appears to be a lack of education or understanding of trade. This trade matter has been echoed by other posters here not just myself. Some acknowledgment (not needing to agree with me) of these problems would go a long way.
