Main clue, no O/T in the title so I'm a footballer. No limit to how many guesses you have but I won't be responding to the wrong ones. I'll add in more clues every so often until someone gets who I am. I've tried to Google proof these but would prefer it if you didn't use it. Good luck.

I started my career as a winger but due to injury moved to centre forward and became a prolific goal scorer.
I averaged a goal every 2.5 games for both club and country.
I am one of only 3 players who have achieved a glorious treble.
I also share another accolade with 2 of my fellow countrymen.
I wore red and white stripes and black and white stripes but become most well known wearing blue.
