    The vast majority of the written press in this country are right wing and are controlled by a small number of powerful individuals.

    I don't think you know much about how written press works. The largest left leaning tabloid is probably The Mirror, who are owned by the same company who also own The Express and The Daily Star.

    Even if The Guardian got hold of the story, they would need concrete proof to print (much like a hidden camera seen here) or it could be suppressed through the threat of legal action, court injunctions etc.

    Don't underestimate the power these people have. If they want a high profile news story to go away - they can do it. Likewise, they can make front page news like this Hancock story.
