    Sorry, man, but he's right

Willock signing-if he does-doesn't improve the squad, it merely keeps the first team at the level it was last season. If we were doing things properly, we'd have bought new players to iprove the first team-like a striker on a level with Wilson and a creative midfielder who could go straight in and a right back. Those are bare minimum signings and Willock would have been a very nice bonus. Plus, we would have bought a couple of players for the squad.

What I've just written isn't even a ridiculous suggestion for a normal club. If you stand still you effectively go backwards given that everybody else has made attempts to improve so it's no wonder that the prospect of making a loan signing permanent isn't exactly a cause for huge celebration on here.

I know you like to complain about our complaining-and that's fair enough-but you've got to understand how cathartic it is. Gallows humour, sacrcasm and downright cynicism are just about the only things we've got. Think of it as tensing your stomach before somebody punches you in it.

It helps us prepare for the inevitable shite that lies ahead.

mate I'm not moaning. Just stating a fact, the club is at a stage where the slightest thing to upset the fans will blow up and turn toxic and unforgiving.
When you take a step back from the club and try to not get involved its so easy to see the game.

I don't go to games anymore, don't buy the shirt anymore because i want rid of Mike Ashley asap. All the fans know what they need to do but they turn up every week.

Anyway, look at the bigger picture and undertone of contempt from Ashley to which we are supposed to support as fans.

We had a decent squad last season, although too many players were between Championship and Premier league level but simply not Premier league class players. We really struggled for practically all of it and due to the goals from a loan player we stayed in the division, we even finished 4 places higher than required which netted Ashley a nice little bonus.

Since then, Ashley has sold or released Atsu, Muto, Carroll, Lejeunne, Saivet

these are fringe layers that make the numbers up but are crucial for injury cover and resting the first team in the cups.
Loads of experience and all internationals.

THIS is where Mike hoodwinks the doylem's that turn up, he will bring back Willock on a permanent deal, funded by the extra places higher that we finished and the wages saved by the 5 players that have gone, so the outlay is £0.00 from the club.

Considering we had Willock here last season, he still has not strengthened the squad and we are still 5 international players down and weaker as a squad.

Ashley wants to get Willock on a transfer so he still has the option of 2 domestic loans to fall back on for the very last throws of the window. Probably for another clubs fringe players.

The glaring reality is, if Wilson gets crocked, we are screwed for a goal scorer, Miggy and ASM are not match fit, they dont score enough and Gayle isnt up to the task and i fully expect to replace Armstrong at Blackburn once he gets sold.

Overall, we have regressed for another season, thats 13 out of 14 in my book but we should all get behind the most clueless manager we have had and celebrate going backwards and another relegation fight .
The only way we are staying up is if there are 3 teams worse than us again this season. And that is the plan, Newcastle United under Mike Ashley dont need to compete or push on each season, we only need to be better than 3 other teams in the division and we can do it all again next season.

Maybe im completely wrong, that is just my feelings on it

yeah i suppose it is moaning

Ashley is stepping down from all his business. He will sell the club when can. I understand that at this point hes not gonna spend anything. Hopefully team stays up and takeover will be completed. At this point is futile to think that the situation is normal and club will spend something. Earlier years it was different but this time I understand the situation.

And thank you for the new word - cathartic. Had the check the translator 😎

Moaning is the only sort of pleasure we've had this last decade or so.

I understand it and if it helps its fine. I like to look at things in every angle. Everybody wants team to compete and win.

If I'm honest I agree with you mate. Yeah it's not great supporting us at the moment it hasn't been for years. But to put a negative spin on absolutely everything the club do or try to do is just boring. I don't post to much nowadays because it simply just doom and gloom. I also think that's why this forum doesn't have many posters. Literally every discussion is just negative repeated sh1t. We know we have a sh1t owner we knew we wouldn't be signing many players if any but still constantly moan about it. The way people are speaking you'd think the club's around us have hugely invested and improved there squads, they haven't. When fit I think our starting line up is very capable of doing well I personally think we need a lot better replacements for when players are out. I just don't see how we can even put a negative spin on signing Willock he improves the team that is not a bad thing no matter how much you dislike Ashley or Bruce, remember you support Newcastle not them.

If you can see positives in how Bruce, Charnley and Ashley are running this club you've probably lost your marbles or got a screw loose or something
