Well, we've spent absolutely nothing in this transfer window. That doesn't surprise me as we all know where the money has gone! I just hope that this lack of investment doesn't come back to bite us. To his credit, Ismael is completely focussed on his style and knows the type of player that he requires. Having said this, had he had some money to spend we might have seen more players coming in. As has already been stated, we have wasted big money on players in the recent past e.g. Zahore and Burke. We were lucky with Burke as we exchanged him for Robinson which was good business. As for Zahore, we're stuck with him as I can't see anybody else wanting him. My hope is that we steer clear of long term injuries, suspensions and Covid. If we can then I'm sure that we will be OK and pushing for the top two spots but I do think that we should have done a little more in this 'window'.

Big Sam said we had a “Healthy” budget.
Just like a healthy diet is Zero Carbs, Zero Fat, Zero Sugar, and Zero Protein.
It’s a healthy budget for an Accountant.
Zero spend reduction in players and wages.
We are not alone as few clubs in our league have spent.
Having said that we do have a decent squad to challenge but spending just some of the inbound money would surely give Val some breathing room.

I just hope that Val is happy with the situation and that he hasn’t been told a lot of porkies regarding transfer budgets and bringing in more players. I still think that our squad is too thin, especially in defensive areas, and if we get through the season without a disruptive number of injuries and suspensions, we will have been very lucky. If we do suffer from these problems, though, and we have a lengthy barren run, I just hope that the Chinese runt doesn’t sack the manager; he should sack himself.

Ist transfer window I've felt relaxed.
Val said from the start, he doesn't need the best player or the biggest signing, he wants the right players to suit his team.
He would never waste money on a Chadli, Lambert Struridge on loan, the likes of Zohore or Burke.
He said last week he would rather wait till January for his target, think he is talking about Dyke who he got for Barnsley in January

Most of our rivals Champ Promotion strengthened during the window with new signings .... we didn’t. Ok I get all this “we want the right players to fit the system”. But I fear for us if get a few bad injuries and suspensions ..... and with games in the Champ coming thick and fast we could easily go on a barren run if 4-5 games.

Not taking anything away from the players Val has brought in - Clarke and Mowatt look good. But signing Hugill shows no ambition. Mulumby we will see. When was signing Norwich and Brighton rejects the limit if our ambition.

Val is putting a brave face on it ...and only he knows if he truly believes in the system ... but my feeling is Lai has hung him out to dry.

Sooner the Chinaman gets out of our beloved club the better
