    There are no options.
    Morris is injured.
    Obbi is not fit.
Those are the only two players at the club that are strong enough to play the target striker position of Vertical Football.
    There isn’t anyone else.

……. We can be powder puff up front but still retain the shape at the back.

    Yes that’s true.
But for how long - before the confidence of individual midfielders and defenders starts to wane as they begin to realise that the forward line is not up to the task.
Ball passed forward is coming straight back at them.
    Nothing is sticking up front.

Morris and Dike were causing all sorts of problems for opponents last season -because they had the upper body strength to knock defenders about - get hold of the ball and either score themselves or lay the ball off for other players to get in on goal.

Ismael realised that we needed that type of player in the Championship - hence Morris and Dike being brought in.
BTW - that’s not the case in the Premier.
Clubs like Liverpool that also play the pressing game don’t have strong target strikers - but their strikers are obviously more technically gifted.

Vertical Football has not been made available to Marcus this season.
And as a consequence we are seeing the results.
If he refuses to use and try other options then there's only 1 man responsible - Schopp. The belgian kid and cole for starters could be useful outlets - has woodrow been dropped? It's impossible to say that he doesnt have the options wen he hasnt used / tried everything at his disposal

As for the defence - thats an assumption not a fact, the fact is there was no need at all for us to defend like we did - and lets be fair its not the first time this season we have defended like that. We are doing the basics badly. Whether we play glorious passing football or vertical football, if you do the basics badly you will lose more than you win at this level.

I have seen absolutely nothing from this manager that makes me think he is the right man for the job.

Very disappointing I agree. Trouble is most of us don’t have any knowledge of what is going on in the club. We only know what we see on the pitch. We are generally poor as a team. Morale looks to be low. My confidence has taken a knock. I just hope they start winning before it’s too late.

The fact they even considered bringing him back to the club shows how clueless they are

What are the odds on Millwall because it’s free money. I bet a lot of Barnsley bookies will have closed their books on this one.

He hasnt been given a chance! I have to disagree - At the end of the day their recruitment policy was the best thing since sliced bread last season. Some of these players havent turned bad because of the men in suits, they are underperfrmaing because MS is out of his depth and they have lost discipline, guidance and fitness - some like the williams pair are just pants.

If hourihane came back would that make them clueless?

So both of the Pants players are a right pair of Williams's are they ?.

I think they were clueless in going back for Dev Cole, whoever thought that was a good idea wants a slap, and if we decided now that it was a mistake in signing him, who is going to buy him off us ?.

I don't blame Marcus for everything because there are a number of things that anger me about the owners, but while he hasn't had all the tools at his disposal, hes certainly not using what hes got correctly!.

I don"t understand why fans are slagging a player off who scored 16 goals last season but has not been given a chance with a team that cannot score, he scored more goals last season than Odour, Frieser & Victor have collectively put together in their Barnsley careers , its crackers & until he has been given a chance then fans should lay off the lad .

Me neither. I was very surprised when we signed Cole, mainly due to the poor attitude that he showed last time he was here. But I was prepared to give him a chance which seems more the coach is prepared to do. I just can't understand why a team that can't score wouldn't give the lad a chance to play. Beyond belief; he's not even making the subs bench. Is there something going off we don't know about?

Vita, Hondermarck and Cole all played for the U23's on Tuesday so were never in Schopps team plans for the Forest game. Let's see what Saturday brings.

Yep I realised Cole had played theday before Chops, but to go 10 games without barely a sniff of a game is extraordinary. Let's hope that game was a warm up game for all 3 of them on Saturday.
