It makes no financial or football sense to sell In the January window.

With 6 months left on his contract the fee will be nominal and he is worth much more to the club playing and scoring us to promotion.

Unless Smith refuses to play for the club it just makes no sense at all .

Much as we dislike it, this is exactly the right time to sell Smith providing it’s a suitable fee

That's ridiculous,Michael Smith will help us go up as champions and he will not be going in January.I would imagine that the chairman is in the process of offering him a much improved contract to stay.I would give him a three year contract NOW.It is worth well over 7 million getting promoted to the Championship.We have some real assets in the squad and we need to protect them from leaving.If we are offered really huge figures we then assess it but Smudge is playing in a winning team and enjoying it here and would no doubt like a champions medal at the end of the season.
