They were 67-1 and reached 339-1 before losing their next wicket.

What possible reason is there for continuing to worry about an event from 2002?

Burns is a horrid little player, nasty technique and wholly ill suited to Test cricket.

His batting isn’t even “hit and miss”, it’s “mediocre at best and miss”.

His number of dropped catches now are beyond a joke.

It’s too much to ask that we have a day 4 to match day 3, starting afresh we’re more likely to see Malan and Root gone within 5 overs and us lose by an inning or by 10 wickets than we are to witness a miracle.

If this pair can put on another 100 and then one of them stay to complete a 180-200 innings then with what we have to follow we could set a decent target for the Aussies.

Alas, this bowling attack is unlikely to skittle them for less than 200.

Unfortunately, not totally unexpected. Basically, too many mistakes, both on and off the field. Selection, decision to bat, dropped catches, poor batting have all contributed to a comfortable Aussie victory. Changes have to be made for the next test but with the exception of Anderson and Broad who is going to make the difference?
