Did you play for Stourport Dave?

Lovely little ground, I go to the preseason match that Stourbridge play their each season, it's usually a red hot day as well.

Sadly no Mick, I think they were playing slightly higher up in those days, a few of my mates did and my old next door neighbour was the chairman for many years, great place to go and watch football got the cricket club next door and the old beams pub at the front for an after match pint.

If we're talking about just the top 4 divisions (not what is now the Conference), by my calculation they are:

    Aston Villa
    Charlton Athletic
    Liverpool
    Nelson (1919 to 1936)
    New Brighton (1923 to 1951)
    Northampton Town
    South Shields (1910 to 1930)
    York City (1930 to 2004, 2012 to 2016)

TBH at the age I was then, late ****s/early 20’s, they would have been avoided as both were local conservatives and Roy was the mayor. I moved away from the area on a full time basis in my mid 20’s so lost touch with the Swift’s around that time as my visits back up were then around the Albion.
