We should be looking at how to maximise the numbers of youngsters involved with our club. Helping families to see DFC as a value for money day out, competitively priced soft drinks and food being used as an better option than the cinema for example.

Full price for OAPs, regardless of Islay's out of date moaning, and bigger reductions for younger fans is the only way to go and not only in football but across the board in every walk of life.

It is a well known fact that when people get older they become more susceptible to illnesses which take longer to shake off.
Therefore an OAP who has a season ticket is more likely to miss several home games per season due to illness than a younger person which then gets to the stage is it worth buying a season ticket in the first place.
If OAPs have to pay full price then they are also more likely to become selective in which matches they attend especially when the weather is cold as there is nothing worse than sitting in a freezing cold Dens Park when they could be sitting at in their nice warm home watching a text update of the game on their computer or iphone.
We've been through this before, I won't change my tune but I will take full advantage. RROSDSC

Anyone whose got one now AND is in receipt of pension credit (generally the poorest) I'd allow to keep, anyone who has one now but not in receipt of pension credit I'd equalise prices with adult tic over next 3 to 5 years.

Every reduction should be in the 16 to 22 or 23 age group imho.....and folk that want to take their bairns.

It would be interesting to know how many OAP (aged 65 and over) Dundee FC season ticket holders and the number of season ticket holders in the other categories including Adult season ticket holders.
One thing that annoys me is that when we were relegated at the end of the 2018-19 season FPS did not reduce the season ticket prices and PATG prices for home games in the Championship in the 2019-20 season.
If we are relegated at the end of this season I would not be surprised to see the current season ticket price and ticket prices for home games in the Championship to remain the same which is effectively a hidden price increase.
I have just had a discussion with my wife who is a football widow about some posters on this topic wanting to scrap the reduction for OAP season ticket holders and individual OAP ticket prices for each home game. She replied that OAPs who are more susceptible to illness than younger people would likely decide to pay per view sitting at home watching the game on their computer instead of freezing to death sitting in Dens Park.
I was an armchair supporter of Dundee Football Club for 28 years as I used to play golf at Downfield Golf Club on a Saturday afternoon teeing off at 1pm. During the autumn and winter months when the course was open I used to drive home listening to up to the minute reports on Radio Tay and watching the vidi printer when I got home.

Older people are not more susceptible to illness, that's a myth. They just have more time on their hands so they whinge a lot more about it.

I don't really consider old until mid seventies these days and a helluva lot of under 80s are perfectly fit........

I think we would lose a few of the older age group who maybe have another decade or so of attending but even if we gained the same amount of youngsters we will have them for longer

It's an outdated system offering oap discounts and having youngsters on less than a tenner an hour pay full whack.

I'll probably be arguing about it in another decade as I don't see it changing but it really should......not just in sport but other areas of society.

And yet other areas have escaped the compulsory pensioner discount......hotels, holidays, car manufacturers to name a few.

But like deeranged if I'm still around I'll take advantage of it in 10 to 15 years time, I'm not gonna cut my nose off to spite my face but I'm not going throw my toys out the pram if pensioner discount is consigned to the dustbin of history

That is a lot of rubbish.
A lot more older people suffer from heart failure, COPD, kidney failure, dementia etc than young people.
It is well known fact that as people get older their organs start to fail. It is just a part of getting old which comes to us all.

Thought you were currently abusing the system?

I agree for once with you , I’ve got an OAP season ticket but I’ve only been twice so far this season , I look out the window before the game and if the weather is Sh1te then I watch the game on my joeyed stick for free , I’ve had long Covid since September so don’t know when I’ll feel well enough to go back to dens , but I will still be renewing my OAP season ticket next season anyway , I’m not just a Dundee fan and a supporter , ps Covid is real guys since September I’ve gone from walking the dog 4 miles every morning to being breathless after drying myself after a shower and not being able to walk my pup
