There needs to be a summer of 'really good' recruitment and possibly some hard decisions about the current playing staff. Yes we do have some good youngsters with promise but they need time and time in football is a small commodity however we will stick with these hoping they do come good. I imagine league two next year will be a struggle although I think the defence will be ok with Sass Davies, Offord, Zac, Uwakwe, Johnson and Adebesi however a good quality hard nosed goalkeeper is certainly required to shout at them and command his box. As for the midfield and the forwards well there is a conundrum. Crewe always had a good midfield there has been little evidence of that this season what with Tommy not being played at the start and the constant chopping and changing and the injuries it has been pretty awful. As for the forwards Mika was good enough for league one and no doubt will get fixed up elsewhere this summer I think that Chris Porter could do a job in league two although he will be a top earner and maybe replaced as for Long I think he could have a good year at that level and Agie on the wing but there is no doubt we need some very good recruitment which will be difficult . Others teams throw money at it look at Salford and they cannot get out of league two and with Stockport and Wrexham being bank rolled it will be hard league for this team. Now as for the manager he is Crewe through and through and had the luxury of some very good players who have gone on to a higher level now they have gone we are what we are there is an old saying 'if you carry on doing what you are doing you will always get what you got' so most likely more of the same the next year. A decision should be made at the end of the season or before so a new manager can have a full off season to do some critical work who would that be I don't know and who would come probably a lot of applicants but you need to find the right man if they are an external candidate, I like Nigel Adkins he did wonders at S****horpe or if you want a Crewe man John Pemberton he has all the licenses UEFA Pro-Licence, UEFA A Licence, Academy Managers Licence, Advanced Youth Licence. Happy to be shot down but they are my thoughts.
