Seeds of hope sown after that performance - something to draw upon - we've reminded ourselves of our resilience after also seeing our vulnerability - Wycombe can't be as cynical/dire at home as they were at ours so we could spring a surprise.....wounded animal and all that...
3:0 Wycombe. PW: "I thought there was only one winner until they scored in the fifth minute." Btw, can someone explain why I am persecuted for mentioning "mental fragility" when PW has several times said we are "playing with fear." It's the same thing in my book.
In hoping the defeat has given the players a mental reset and realise we arent going to walk it
Wycombe, whilst using the dark arts of football at our place, especially second half, also showed their capability that they could play a bit also that day, and it's a real test for us especially as we played mid week and they didn't. I looked at Wycombe as being a team that would grind out 1-0 wins but they have been conceding quite a few goals this season, although they have also scored a few too.
However, whilst we haven't been at our best in recent weeks we have managed to keep picking up points, an admirable trait that a few other teams wouldnt mind having I'm sure.
If we win at Wycombe, it wont promote us and if we lose at Wycombe we wont slip into the play off places either, but we probably have a harder run in than either MK or Wigan so the pressure is most definitely on us to keep our calm and, as the saying goes, take it one game at a time.
If we fail we have only ourselves to blame but at the moment, automatic promotion, and even the league 1 title, is ours for the taking. UTM
Get defence right then with players back from injury looking good for automatic promotion. Warney should have learned that Edmunds Green on the right Harding left of our back 3 best we've got in those positions. Enough in rest of the side to reach our objective.
