Following on from Ponty Ends comments, about Khaled

Didnt the club say the stand didnt have a safety certificate and then BMBC called them out for lying as they had issued one just a few weeks earlier? I cant remember the exact timescales.

The council passed it last summer.
Well into this season Khaled decided it’s not safe.
If anything untoward happens the council isn’t liable - but Khaled is.
The upper stand floor is made of wood that has holes in it.
Most of the lower stand is open to rain.
There are no toilets in the north side of the stand.
The south side toilets are inadequate especially for women.
Broken glass bottles decorates the perimeter wall.
It’s a stand suited to the 4th tier of English football.

The stand forms the first impression of someone (eg potential signings) visiting the club for the first time.

IMO the whole stadium needs to be revamped including a new West Stand.
We need to hear from the owners (not Khaled) what their plans are.

1) Was it a lie he gave about the West Stand ?
What evidence is there to call someone a liar?
Are you accusing Khaled of being a liar ?
In my view it MAY have been a tactic to move things forward with regards to ground improvements - but anyone using the West Stand will know that it is not fit for purpose and should be pulled down.
And I’m saying this as someone who loves that stand.

2) Are you actually berating someone for telling the truth about decisions made (not by him) but by the directors?
As he did in the Giddings interview.
Is that what you are saying?


BTW - none of this distracts from the fact that someone on here has used abusive language (again!) this time towards the Barnsley CEO.
It’s inexcusable - and individuals who are questioning the support for the CEO instead of calling out the abusive language are undoubtedly promoting the use of more abusive language.

Ive not posted since Satdy and this subject has evolved quite a lot.
Its a shame that somebody like Ponty end chooses to post on here in the way that he does, with all the charm and likeability of Jimmy Carr and Frankie Boyle after a huge acid halloween binge!!.
He does make some interesting points though, even though hes mostly on his own on here as nobody agrees with him.

Yes I think lies were told about the reason for the West Stand closure, you might call them tactics but if something isn’t true then it’s a lie to me.

The situation presently at the club generates emotive opinion which by definition will lead to robust exchanges of views .
