And once again you miss the point entirely by going off on a series of random ramblings Al'.

I couldn't care less whether Rock got belted by a white guy, a black guy or a rainbow disguised as the sugar plum fairy.

I'm not referencing colour as it doesn't shade my opinion on this or any other issue. I'm referencing a specific point.

The point being he wouldn't have found himself funny for very long were it my wife he'd disrespected in front of any number of people of all colours both live and via TV link up.

And as I wouldn't have stopped at a slap Mr. Rock can count himself very fortunate (in this imagined scenario) he didn't cross the line with me and mine, as I'd have knocked ten bells out of him and not given a moment's thought as to whether you or anyone else found it excessive.

As for the fine young man that is Conor Gallagher rent boy chants, homophobia or his reactions therein are a matter for his temperament and not mine. Probably just as well really.

So tell me, did you ever join in with the Chelsea rent boy chants when Roman's finest were in town when we first went up? I'm not a gambling person but if I were I'd have placed money that you did.

As an aside having browsed social earlier media earlier this evening I think you'll find Will Smith has been largely condemned by a good number of his peers of all colours and pronouns so you don't need to be offended on everyone's behalf 😉 .

Good for you if you wish to react this way. I would react much worse but not with the cameras on me.

At the end of the day - f uck the Oscars - f uck the celebrities and f uck anyone who flashes their wealth around. Do I care that a celeb or famous footballer has depression or tops them self on drugs. No!! I do care though about those who struggle without money and do not have the funds for life saving ops etc etc. Very much so!

I will now have my own little Oscars and the prize will be a nice bottle of Malbec for myself!

If he takes the piss take the piss back not hit him, we teach kids this
In no way should he have a right to hit him otherwise can I slap or hit anyone that takes the piss or calls me something I don’t like

Will and Jada have been in the public eye long enough to know better, not laughing would have been worse and let everyone know how they felt but Will was pissing himself until Jada put him straight

What a dick, didn’t slap the guy who was balls deep in his missus but slaps a guy who’s paid to crack jokes

Also I agree with Mick if a white guy had slapped a black guy or a black guy a white guy no one would be sticking up for the hitter

Exactly BS. Violence in front of the camera with kids watching is shocking. A little smack in the dressing room and a crushed car - perhaps!

Hate the Oscars anyway with all these p ricks showing off their wealth! Much prefer Pride of Britain where genuine normal people have made a difference and been recognised!

I think it's crazy that they pay comedians to go on stage and roast people about personal stuff, one person reacts (wrongly but understandable) and the Academy Awards are condemning Smith....

I get it, he shouldn't have hit him but why aren't they taking accountability for putting a sodding roast on in the first place? Is that the best they can do for entertainment these days, paying someone to mock a woman for losing her hair...

    👍
Can't disagree with that!! Taking the Mickey out of celebrities -or anyone- who might be full of themselves is one thing, as is a bit of banter that demonstrates that such people are, in reality, only people like anyone else but the whole being deliberately insulting thing has been done to death now. Ricky Gervais was funny to start with but even he has sensed this is a one-trick pony approach.

Have not read the whole thread, so might have missed things.

Black or white of no importance here, the real problem maybe, there are far too many aggressive men out there, and they come in all colours…

    And food for thought maybe:

Could a woman who is verbally ridiculed and insulted maybe stand up for and defend herself, and choose how to, without an aggressive male interfering…

    Cue, cave men… 😎😇😉

    That’s a good point SB.

I rewatched the whole thing again and as everyone has said, Smith seemed fine at first but there must have been something instinctively triggering him to do what he did. Maybe it was Jada who did that.
I initially thought Smith was already up on stage with Rock and didn’t know that he walked from his actual seat to go and hit Rock. Totally out of order. He probably should have had some restraint and just grabbed the mic and say leave my wife out because of her illness.

Back to your point, if we’re all trying to get full equality on the male v female matter, then they should definitely stand up for themselves and maybe perhaps start opening or holding doors open for us blokes. Lol
