Because I have read extensively about him and Yeltsin, his biographies, the biographies of his enemies like Berezovsky (a Yeltsin puppet) have discussed him with a musician contact I met in Egypt who actually lives in an apartment in Red Square and has contact with the FSB, and have first hand accounts from people I know from Luhansk/Donetsk - some of whom have evacuated to the West and others who have gone to Russia.

I am aware of Western bias in the media and am grown up enough to know they are peddling an agenda - but none of that changes the fact that Putin is a dictator who has taken control of the state, installed his criminal and ex-KGB colleagues into seats of power which he wrestled from Yeltsin's billionaire puppets and is hell bent on reclaiming the Russki Mir by any means necessary including bombing his own people and blaming it on whoever else he can fit up to pursue his agenda. Who do you think sanctioned Beslan? Sure as hell wasn't the Chechens.

He probably is a dictator and I never said he wasn`t-but he must be doing something right if he has over 80% approval ratings.He obviously does represent the vast majority of the Russian people.

Mahatma Gandhi once said “Remember that all through history there have been tyrants and murderers and, for a time, they seem invincible but, in the end, they always fall, always.” I cannot fault Putin in his zeal for exterminating Nazis in Ukraine. He has bombed the hospitals where they are born, the schools where they are educated, the theatres where they absorb their Nazi culture and the shopping malls where they buy their Nazi uniforms. Surely in the goodness of time the good people of Ukraine will erect a statue to their Liberator.

It all reminds me of very early in the conflict, we were being told over here that this Nazi stuff was a load of bollox, Russian propaganda, and one of the news channels had this clip with a Ukranian soldier climbing out of a ditch and walking right in front of the camera, which showed quite clearly the Waffen SS insignia on his sleeve. Peter Hitchens column in the Mail on Sunday had two photos, one of a 2nd Waffen SS Panzer Division tank at Oradour after the WW2 massacre, the other of a Ukrainian tank, with exactly the same insignia on it. But still the message was the same, no Nazis in Ukraine.

The Azovs in Donbass - now mostly dead - are very similar to the Nazis in England or Orban's more extreme followers in Hungary. We all have them and they are a tiny minority. Except in Hungary where fascism is the norm - and the Prime Minister is a racist fascist ****.
That said, using a small extremist group as justification for invading a country and bombing schools and hospitals is bang out of order and you know it mate.

Realistically, Putin had more justification for invading Hungary than Ukraine - but hang on - Hungary isn't on Russia's border and wasn't part of the Russkii Mir that the KGB want back is it?

We all know the real reason Putin attacked Ukraine and it's got f*** all to do with Nazis.
