Think we just have to accept we let a good manager go because of supporter pressure and the rest is history. NA brought in RR and CR. Nothing like them since and our performances in the playoffs have been worse under IB too. Shambles comes to mind

This is true, IB was a terrible appointment at a very strange time, made no sense to me whatsoever , we have gone backwards with him, as you say all our better players were Ardley signings, who did IB really sign ??

Yup that's Wrexham and Chesterfield who have both spent huge and not even reached the playoff final.

I'm sure Wrexham will go again next season, maybe even double down financially and will start favourites but Chesterfield, not so sure?

We always know not all the 3 big spenders could go up and it turns out only 1 did, only Stockport's gamble paid off.

Wrexham have money behind them. Chessie's season was financed on loans etc, so you would imagine it was a chit or bust attempt for Chessie. We'll soon see, whether or not they manage to hang on to their better players will tell us.

Would any of you have Miller back if the chance arose?

Hmmm, have we anyone better in that winger/wingback position? Debatable.

Wrexham were always hamstrung by a manager well past his prime - if they'd gone for Dave Challinor, I'm confident that they'd be promoted now and Stockport might be in their position. Similarly, Chesterfield never recovered from the James Rowe saga and losing their top striker at a key point in the season.

Fair play to Neal Ardley for getting Solihull to the final. Will he learn from our no-show two years ago?

Neal Ardley did say in a recent interview about them finishing 3rd that "There's a team spirit that I've never seen before, or never managed before"

They've lost one game in 24. That's the kind of run you need if you want to be right up there. We've never really achieved anything like that since we have been at this level. That's why in football you always get what you deserve over the course of a season.

One thing that can often get overlooked in football but is so key and fundamental to the ultimate success of a side is team spirit, being relentless, always being at it along with mental and physical strength. These qualities with quality are what's needed especially away from home and grinding out wins when you don't play well. That's how titles are won.

NA is a better manager than IB. I said at the time is was absolute madness sacking Ardley when we did, we might has well have stuck with Ardley and carried out the long term plan the brothers want . Two 3rd place finshes for him now, and 2 finals
