It would have been nice to see how he developed. He had some pretty decent attributes, though defending from the front wasn’t one of them.
I suspect he will be plying his trade closer to home.
    Good luck to him.

Delighted to see the back of him tbh. The word was that he was our highest earner, and his attitude was a joke at times. I saw him numerous times sulk when he wasn't given the ball, yet when he had the ball he was incredibly selfish. Fair enough he scored an outrageous goal, and he had a good month once, but for me he's not delivered consistently in the 2 seasons he's been here.

A really likeable guy, a bit inconsistent but at his best he had some fabulous moments. I hope he goes back abroad, or at least anywhre other than Grimsby - or similar !!

Maybe the owners aren't as happy with progress on the pitch and are having a shake up? IB leaving offers that opportunity to move things on.

Echo all of that. What a pity we never saw him be given the shirt for an extended run.

A bit of an enigma was our Eli. He scored some fantastic goals, mainly cutting in from the left, but he missed some absolute sitters from two yards and couldn’t head the ball to save his life. Wish him all the best though

Personally I am gutted as he was seriously under used by Burchnall and a waste of great talent. Always gives 100% but boy am I also looking forward to our new striker at last a proven one!! Good luck Sam, you will be missed.

    I agree.

I'm as disappointed about this departure as I am pleased about Langstaff's arrival. Eli Sam had serious quality for this level, and quite frankly the only reason he didn't play more and score more is because the last two managers took too long to figure out how to get the best out of him, and it wasn't that difficult. Burchnall pretty much worked it out during the middle of last season, but I always feared it would be too late to convince Eli he was really wanted.

Sorry Messrs Ardley and Burchnall, but this one's on both of you, even though it's irrelevant to you now. Poor management of a very talented player.

Unfortunately its always the same with flair players if they don't fit the coach's style they get overlooked instead of overused.

Sad to see him go. Good luck to him.
