Miller’s transfer listed because he wants to move back to Scotland anyway apparently.

I think full backs are difficult to decide on until the manager is in place and has a first choice formation.
Miller for example in a genuine wingback would be great because he terrorised defences down one side, but as a old fashioned full back (which is what I think we need) to do the stop the cross work and occasionally go to winger…he wasn’t good enough. Not enough positional awareness.
Keeper. Give brooks a go. Got to play him at some point!
    Big CB who is aggressive.
Box to box who can get goals to weigh in, but good legs. No offence to JoB, but we need younger now.
    Striker to partner new lad.

Sell Reuben if that AM role isn’t going to be used a lot.
Get the value while it’s high rather than side-lining him and value dropping.
He’s not a striker out and out and I’d go two clear strikers up front.

Assuming we’re going to play 3-5-2.

    GK - Slocombe
    GK - Brooks

No need to strengthen here, it’s time for Brooks to step up to see what he can do if needed.

    …………..

    RB/RWB - Brindley
    RB/RWB - TAR

No need to strengthen here seeing as both can also play RCB if needed.

    …………..

    LB/LWB - Chicksen
LB/LWB - Taylor - would like to see him shipped out. Massive disapointment. We need an affective alternative to provide a threat down the LHS. I wouldn’t mind seeing Miller return.

    +1 - Miller

    …………….

    RCB - Brindley
    RCB - Rawlo

Need strength in depth here. Brindley doesn’t fill me with confidence there but admittedly has had some really good games.

    +1

    …………..

    CB - Rawlo?

Jesus. We need two monsters really, not too fussed about playing out in this position….two ‘head it, kick it’ types please. One needs to be captain material, Cameron ain’t no captain I’m afraid. Ben Turner types.

+2 (we’ll probably only get one)

    …………

    LCB - Cameron
    LCB - Chicksen

Same as RCB really. Decent position for Cameron and Chicksen can fill in there, but I’d prefer to see more height and physicality in back up for Cameron.

    +1

    …………

    CM - Palmer
    CM - Francis
    CM - O’Brien
    CM - Vincent
    CAM - Rodrigues

Anyone wondering about the main reason for our lack of mental and physical resilience this season take a look at those midfielders and there’s your main reason. Basically, we need the new versions of Bishop and Ravenhill to play either side of Palmer. Sort this once and for all and we win the league.

    +2

    …………

    FWD - Langstaff
    FWD - Knight
    FWD - Roberts
    FWD - Mitchell

Hell of a lot of questions about that list. Wouldn’t be too sad to see Roberts leave and Mitchell go out on loan to be honest, especially if we get a fee for Roberts to get a new striker in. You know what, a swap deal with Cheaterfurlough for Asante in exchange for Roberts would go down a right treat in my eyes.

    +2

    …..

So….9 players. We won’t get that many, but 7 I’d have thought?

But who's going to play on the other side!? I don't think we can rely on Taylor and there is nobody else (everyone needs to forget about Chicksen as an attacking player).

Did I read that Miller is a free agent again? Would we want him back? I'd be 50/50
I'd take Miller back, if the wage demands are reasonable. He seemed to fit our style and many were disappointed when he opted for Chessie. It looks like the Spireites are a busted flush financially, seeking to offload some of their wage bill in haste.

    A bit harsh IMO.

In the earlier part of last season many people were raving about Taylor as one of our best players, with some justification. He then seemed to suffer a major loss of form, but there's definitely some ability there. I think with the right competition for his place (like Miller) he's at the very least a decent back-up wing-back, and at his best a good first-team player. He could do with working on his defending, but that seems to describe most full-backs and wing-backs these days. Feckin wimps. They need to be fed some raw meat and locked in a cage with Stuart Pearce for a few hours!

Any of Danny Elliott, Alfie Rutherford or Josh Walker a good fit for you? Not sure about dominating centre halves, but add one of them?

I was expecting much much more from him, when in reality I think I saw him have one decent game. Couldn’t defend, didn’t beat a man, poor control, severely one footed, far too predictable (receive the ball out wide - no confidence to knock it past his opponent - cut inside on his left foot - unable to use his right foot so has to pass it back to Cameron - wash, rinse, repeat).

I know people raved about him, but barring one beautiful cross for Wootton against Solihull I thought he was an absolute liability. One question for the stats people…how many goals or chances came from our left hand side last season?

    *talking about Taylor*

You want to swap Roberts for a guy who gets injured every other week? Right…
