PR is a terrible electoral system.

I think it took them around 255 days to form a government in Holland in a recent election.

You end up with the dog being wagged by the tail and some loony fringe party holding balance if you’re not careful.

For all its perceived faults “first past the post” is how we do things in this country and even if I don’t want a present day Labour Party in power they deserve the right to govern if they win a majority.

Any party that doesn’t has the right to forge an alliance like the Lib/Lab pact of the 70’d or the Con/LD alliance of 2015.

We should maintain the status quo.

I am not defending Boris Johnson in any way because he has shown little integrity and told too many lies. I think that he should go, and go now. What I would like to say though is that in my lifetime I don't think that any PM has had a more difficult time to be the PM. Yes, he has made mistakes but what PM hasn't. However, in general I think that he has done OK and it's such a shame that his lack of integrity has been his downfall. I just hope that the Tory Party get it right with the new appointment because I just don't want the Labour Party of today in power. Too many influences from far left activists and minority groups.

Much respect to Wallace for deciding not to run.

It’s refreshing to see someone who understands themselves well enough to know that a job isn’t the right fit for them.

I once went for a job and at the interview I went against normal convention by telling the Sales Manager and Sales Director that I had no interest in aspiring to their jobs as I was a bloody good salesman but not a good man manager.

I also told them I wouldn’t move my family one inch for the company, I’d never uproot and move them around.

I got the job and I did well for them and they both later admitted they were both shocked but impressed by my honesty and straight talking.

Well done Ben Wallace, you seem like a very good bloke to me.

The leader needs to be a duplicitous s h I t and there’s plenty of those queueing up!

Good post. He paid way too little attention to anything other than the job, it was almost an irritation to him to even have to talk about anything other than his work. Big mistake. This is Britain. You can do 99 things right but as soon as you do something wrong BANG!

Totally agree Leicester and I never voted for him. The message to the new PM is don't sup red wine, appoint raving queens, and be completely honest like Blair and Starmer!
