The Covid virus should like other viruses have been left to run its course.
Islay, is your point that the virus is now so changed that it is harmless to the unvaccinated? Like Grantzer, I think that the vaccine is giving protection against the variation of covid that seems to be infecting the population at present. The much reduced death rate and low hospital admissions seem to back that up. I have not read anything that says the virus is as harmless to the unvaccinated as it is harmless to the vaccinated.

The Omnicron variant of Covid has the same symptoms as a head cold.
The scientists have been trying for decades to develop a vaccination to prevent the common cold virus with no success.
Therefore the Covid vaccinations we are currently receiving and fourth vaccination which will be our second booster injection will not stop the spread of the current strain of the Covid virus.
GPs used to tell us that we had a virus and we had to let it run its course.
How the politicians and scientists want to pump our arms full of a Covid vaccine which is no use.

In June 2021 there were no cases of the Covid-19 virus in the Western Isles of Scotland yet yesterday the Western Isles hospital in Stornaway has had to close down due to an outbreak of Covid despite people getting their third booster Covid injection.
I personally know people who have already received their fourth Covid injection which is their second Covid booster injection.
    Absolute belter.......

But I am guessing your reason is not, " there is an outbreak,I am elderly, therefore I will not get a booster".

It's not the refusal, but the logic

No more they really don't make much difference at my age except give me an increased risk of heart attack.

Think the uptake of the next booster will be well done ,an unvacinated mate has caught it,will be interesting to see if he's any worse than me when I had it 2 weeks ago

I think that is the key point. If your mate has to go to hospital because he is so much more ill than you were, I would take that as an indication that the vaccination programme does have a beneficial effect. I worry that Islay may be talking himself into not taking any boosters. As far as I can see the whole covid vaccination and testing regime has collapsed and I am not convinced we should be celebrating this.
