Shale is very dangerous ground with long term consequences, that the people making money out of today won't give a rat's arse about.
The oil industry knows the dangers but as with the global impact of fossil fuel going back years, they will get laws passed.
    Dirty money.
Shale is not new..its just the technology that is new to extract it......fractured sandstone (where the oil is held) gets infilled with water to create the pressure needed for extraction of oil. Many water tables have been documented as been contaminated on account of extraction methods...

Your “tat” AL is what many others like my daughter Holly have to rely on due to a very limited income.

You make it all sound so “black and white” at times mate but in the real World it just isn’t.

There’s a reason China is hiking it’s prices and shipping costs now......because it can!

There is no threat to their dominance and if there was ever to be, it’s takes decades to “tool up” and create the production capacity.

There’s a reason that most of the World’s great technology that we all rely on is made in China, it’s because wages are still cheap and they produce good product.

If your iPhone or Samsung was made in the U.K. or the USA you’d be paying four or five times more for it.

I don’t see any country breaking China’s dominance in the next 50 years.

Sadly you are right! All this bollox about nobody works in sweat shops anymore - they still do and it’s a fact any western buyer is usually shown a s****y premises or warehouse to impress them but in reality work
Is carried out in a s hit hole! The point is we need to start growing our own industries as if China go to war with Taiwan we are f ucked!
