A very good team performance. We looked streets ahead of these tonight faster to the ball closing down very much like under Val.
Clearly Duff is getting the best out of what he’s got and gradually improving week on week.
It’s seems the spreadsheet may well have come good with Benson after all.
Forest Green rested tonight their game postponed.

Thought there was some decent passing football but not too many chances created. Maybe it will open up against tired legs in the second half.
He may well overtake Victors record Ethel. Nothing wrong with his performance tonight along with the rest of the squad.
I see Luton’s massive signings are not pulling up many trees either.

Tonight Benson gave one of the best performances I’ve seen from a Barnsley player for a very long time, roll on Saturday.

He might Poggy, he wears our shirt and I hope he does. My comments relate to what I had seen from him in his previous appearances, which were poor. I am still unconvinced at this point but that will have done his confidence some good

Anyway, we move on and its only fair to say it was a good performance which I hope becomes a more regular occurrence.

Benson was rhe man of the match but praise also for Anderson who was a rock at the back & Styles who was excellent throughout the game

First game I’ve managed to watch this season and they were excellent from start to finish against a Rovers side full of confidence.
Bossed every inch of that field tonight, all of them put in a shift in horrible conditions.
They all played well, Benson was outstanding, Cole had the best game for us he’s had, Thomas and Aitchson never stopped and were real pests!
Cundy and Anderson were solid and Williams and Kitching were great going forward, even Styles looked interested tonight!
I hope this shows them that real effort in this league gets reward and we kick on now, so pleased for them all.

I’m wondering if Styles has finally realised that if he wants a ‘big move’ he’s gonna have to earn it and get his shirt sweated up.

Teams aren’t gonna cough up big money like £5m or whatever for somebody who looks only average in lg 1.

He’s got to put in some MOTM performances and get noticed again.

Only seen the goals so cannot really comment on the overall performance but, by all accounts, the lads done good.

A number of players who found the Championship a struggle have much more confidence in the Third Division.

Four league games played, two wins and two defeats. A bit early to make judgements but Duff seems to be using his knowledge of the Third Division from last season to get the most from the players he has available at the moment.

    Up the Duff.
