Actually the type 42 destroyer colour turned out to be one of the best paints I’ve ever used.

Much cheaper than paint though at around $160 for 36 gallons.

Generally paint here is around $40/gallon in the DIY stores and up to double that in the specialist paint suppliers. One I have used is shown in the picture below, might have got a good deal off them Brin for your Millmoor exploits ]
The incorporated primer debate is all to do with a family of chemicals called silanes

Jury is still out on whether or not there’s any advantage to having incorporated primer.

I did warn everyone about what would happen to the "Money" allocated to projects. That's our bridge from NYS to Water Lane, Westgate gone to the dogs now. Unless they make a tarzan swing instead..................Shambles doesn't even describe this lot.

Think yourself lucky it only cost a sheet of plywood Two and a half years ago here an engineer discovered concrete flaking from cracks in a bridge that carries 100,000 vehicles a day and ordered it to be immediately closed. After much toing and froing they finally decided that repair was cheaper than replacement and next week it reopens after $94M has been spent on it. Considering the actual work took around 18 months they did well to spend so much money in such a short time.
