Didn't someone say we made a profit last year?

I am in agreement and I said as much in another thread a few weeks ago, about how much longer could the owners tolerate the losses?
If it doesn’t improve then it has to be a ‘fire sale’ and owners cut losses and sell (who would buy)or just go into voluntary administration.
I just cannot fathom out how clubs like Motherwell, St Mirren etc. seem to do so well, apart from player recruitment (which is important of course) their crowds are smaller, their wages cannot be a patch on what United are paying or they have mysterious benefactors or good at hiding losses.
Bottom line once over the white line the players have to take responsibility and we are probably no weaker in most positions, less goal keeping, than last season.
This is a great club that occasionally do things out of the ordinary, but we should consistently be in the top six. It just as most have said a continuous stream of mediocrity, pump call it what you will. Surely some on the pitch must be thinking the same knowing they can do better and take a game!

Our midfield is certainly weaker from last season. Zero physicality in there.
The balance of our midfield is the worst iv ever seen and what's worse is they were trying to justify it in the middle of a transfer window when things could have been done about it.
More heads than Ross's should roll over it. This is not a scenario where we lost the steel through injuries, this is a self-inflicted disgrace! You would literally have to have no idea about football whatsoever to think that collective of midfielders could work.
Individually we have some decent players. Levitt, McGrath, in particular, can both play with another body in there to compliment them defensively but we have no-one and the entire team is suffering because of it.
And to think the stick Butch used to get. Was he limited in midfield? For sure but he gave us something we just don't have now. You are right though, it should have been dealt with but it appears JR reckoned we could do without or I'm sure he would have pushed it as a priority?
Meanwhile Gogic (who apparently we were meant to be getting) is playing that exact role for St Mirren and currently doing it very well. If we could turn the clock back and have a choice on spending wages on either Harkes or Gogic, I think we know what the answer would be…………
Im thinking he must have been out of budget and had no choice but to say that. Even teams with the best attacking midfields in the world have someone like that in their team. Its complete nonsense that anyone can think a much more limited set of lightweight midfielders could do it in a league where historically its been filled with hatchet men in midfield and the lightweight players need players in there to do the dirty work. I cant beleive Ross didn't know that, and if he didnt then he shouldnt be anywhere near a dugout again
