I’ve got to say the famous player that amazed me was Edgar Davids what a wonderful display of skills,best display I’ve ever seen against Rotherham.

His display for Barnet was brilliant, when he went off to be subbed, the response from all the fans in NYS was brilliant. A true master of football.

Bit of an age difference with most on here but the first famous player playing against us at Millmoor that I can remember seeing is Neville Southall for Torquay, he got a few toilet rolls thrown at him as he ran up to the Tivoli end and actually caught a couple of them.

It was an ongoing knee injury that finally forced him to quit after the Rotherham game at the age of 29.

My first ever game at Millmoor I saw Sammy Chung play for Watford in 1961, I think he was the first Chinese man to play in the football league. There were probably more famous players for Watford but that's as much as I remember cos it was quite a while back.

I think that was the same for me, Shytalk. We played Watford in the FA Cup Third Round in January.

I think I may also have seen Stanley Matthews when Stoke came to Rotherham that year.

I also remember the Allchurch brothers, Ivor and Len, with Swansea but only saw Len.

I don't think he was even the most famous player in that game with the likes of Pat Jennings, Liam Brady, Frank Stapleton....on show.
