Wigan might have decided to stay in a hotel because I believe that they can claim the cost back from Burnley as legitimate matchday expenses.
….and yes it should be a reasonably priced hotel and players doubling up in rooms.

Don’t forget that they pipped us to the signing of Ashley Fletcher on loan from Watford ( we must thank them for that near miss though) and presumably offered Tilt a better contract than we did…..and so it goes on and on, Groundhog Day

The EFL are still weak and insipid and owners are running rings round them by just using loosely worded regulations to their own advantage

Yes Wigan have been abusing the system far too long ,A proper penalty should be given to this totally mismanaged outfit.

MB, thing is, it will probably be the lightest possible points deduction they can possibly give them, probably -3 knowing the weak EFL.
It's about time they made a proper example of a club and it's Chairman/Directorship set up.

Further to that, what a ludicrous judgement by the EFL to put a transfer embargo on Burnley.Absolute idiots !!!!!

Burnley?? First I've heard of them having an embargo. I know Sheff Utd have one in place but again, what does it achieve?
Okay they can't bring in any other players but the season's nearly over and a player of high calibre as a free agent just isn't out there.

Sheff Utd have all the big names they wanted in but, can't afford the payments on them, again blatant cheating because if they go up, the money they'll receive, £165 Million+ will wipe all their debts out. Should they not go up then they are in BIG trouble. Clubs should not be allowed to do this and the embargo garbage charge should be made defunct and if teams falter on players payments like in Sheff Utd's gamble, then points should be deducted in season and not at the end. Better still, take the player off them and send them back to the club they got them from in the first place.

Sky a bit late to the party. Its breaking news this morning that Huddersfield have been placed under a transfer embargo by the EFL

There's also the issue of the £££125% that had been agreed with the efl.
Does not appear to have worked or its not been put in place in the first place.
Don't know enough about Wigan Athletic - bad enough when we were in financial trouble -( & that wasn't too long ago.)

Blades have defaulted on payments to Liverpool for Brewster and they are very sizeable when you know the deal is worth £23 Million!

Burnley are claiming they've changed auditors so that is why they've submitted their records late....rubbish!

American owned, it's like scene from the Sopranos.
