Yeah, taking a long time getting over decades of being disappointed!
Very promising for the future. There were times you looked at our crowd and it looked scarily old, fantastic that new generations of supporters turned up in numbers after all

Very much so AC, in some of our darker times the attendances were scarily low (cold midweek evening game) and the demographic was as you say scarily old. Yes you doth your cap to the committed OAP supporters who have been to home games through thick and thin and always will with cheap season tickets and time on their hands but it was very worrying for your future. It was a regular comment most seasons.

The numbers these past 3 seasons have been so impressive, increasing and above all the demographic is much much improved. It's amazing what a well run club can do in this regard, and that includes free tickets for schools and groups.

As someone who doesn’t get to many games, one of the most heartening things for me yesterday (other than us rarely getting out of second gear and still winning easily) was seeing the stream of fans - young, middle aged, mature - walking towards the ground pre-match. Like others, I remember not so long ago where you weren’t sure if the game had been postponed, there was so little foot traffic.

I notice we also had a “gang” walking back into town afterwards, about 100 lads singing anti-Wrexham chants. As long as they’re not a bunch of idiots, that’s also a sign of progress I guess.
