Very sensible decision made by AB in my opinion.Sentiment may have got him another season but in reality he would,at best, have been
on the bench next season.Go now and get a 2 year contract elsewhere and play regularly, well done and thanks AB.

The way he has led the line this season I think he deserves at least one more year.

    Your thoughts?
Hard to imagine that it wouldn't be useful to have AB available to be sent on for crucial spells.

Just listened to the interview again, when he said it was the end of an era for him, it was pointed out that he had just won promotion back to the PL and he was asked, 'Are you sure'? His answer was 'It's on the club isn't it'. No hint at all that it was his decision, seems obvious to me that he was told a while ago that he wouldn't be getting another contract and he's come to terms with it.

Makes sense as well given how Pace wants to run the club now, young players picked up cheap who can add value, Ash is a top earner, way past his sell by date, no new contract, end of. They're not running a charity.

I never realised Mormons could be so ruthless sinkov. I'll bet we are not far away from break even in the financial department now.

Fair enough, sinkov. I missed that comment.

When one listens to the comments coming out of the club, you are spot on. It is a business and ALK want to make profits. They are not an oil rich nation using football. This ties in well with VK who appears to love taking young talent and developing them, as well as picking up talent like Cullen plying their trade in other countries.

Again, everyone talks about a «*project*» . Sadly we do not know what the objectives of that project are, other than a return to the PL.

    Only time will tell.

As Bashley is now clearly held in such high regard amongst Burnley fans, is it time for a statue on Harry Potts Way, to honour his long and devoted service to winding up opposition defenders on our behalf and scoring a few goals along the way ?
