I'm not sure there's anything beyond speculation at the minute, Hughie.

It's a learning curve for us as fans, too. Previously, we didn't really trouble the transfer gossip columns but now we're going to be linked with players not just because we're actually interested but because their agent wants to create a bit of interest in them...and is using us to do it.

The nufc board will have made a cash up front offer of £50m right now for the player. Inter are crippled financially. Barella is a start player, Italian international, big revenue generator for the club.

They will have said €75 up front as a counteroffer is my guess. Nufc board will have said let us get back to you.
