£1.50 Al ? They were £1.65 in my local CO-OP the other day!!

This range of Cadbury pouches has gone from a pre Pandemic price of £1 to £1.25, to £1.35 and then the sudden jump to £1.50 plus yet they are still best sellers. Amazes me that people will moan about increases in the prices of eggs or milk (which our farmers are not paid enough for) yet happily continue to spend money on things like this. The cost of living crisis is clearly not affecting all.

Take the Nicola Bully case as an example. This forum was all over it like a rash. There was initial sympathy with the family. Then the husband became a suspect, the investigation was flawed, the experts quoted in the media, were right when the professional working long hours in dreadful conditions were inept, I could go on. All the media BS and social media amateur sleuths would have caused that poor family so much more anguish, because of what, people love to gossip, people love to be right, the first to get it right. When their wrong they never say they got it wrong, they just move to next piece of juicy tittle tattle.

I was appalled by the comments that people, who have no idea what they are talking about, made in the above case.

I may take an interest when it is confirmed who the person under investigation and suspension is. Until then I don’t wish to speculate as it is, in my opinion, totally and utterly unfair to do so.

And the truth is, men actually gossip more than women. See the link below.

I was speculating having seen the photograph of him naked from the waist down showing his nether regions to this young person.

His behaviour is risky and at the very least goes against the ethics of his employer.

And now……playing the mental health card which really annoys me.

As a sufferer of depression I find it deeply unpleasant that this is used as an excuse for such behaviour.

It’s a good job that the many thousands who do suffer from depression don’t resort to this type of high risk behaviour, targeting young people in particular.

I totally understand where you are coming from, given your recent response to me. However, mental health takes many, many form and can fester over a long period and, of not diagnosed, can lead to serious issues. It’s a very cruel world and I have made light of this man, however, none of us know of his demons. No excuse as he was well enough to read the news etc. However, many continue in life looking normal on the outside whilst struggling with their mental health.

On the other hand others like me look mad and deranged from the outside while being perfectly normal inside.🙂

Whilst I certainly agree with your last paragraph, the effects of mental illness (as opposed to solely depression- which I certainly don't want to belittle in any way) can show in a range of behaviours including those that would never have been demonstrated before. As for "playing the Mental Health card" , to be fair, Edwards has been quite open about his struggles with this for some time.

As you yourself alluded to in a previous post, one of the problems with unacceptable and risky behaviour is that it can dangerously escalate and maybe that is what happened here? I am obviously in no way condoning his alleged behaviour but there are normally drivers behind it. My thoughts are not only with any victims in this but also with his close family who must be shattered by this.

Totally agree Mick. I have a GP friend who says thousands play the mental health issue when being pursued by courts, bailiffs, HMRC, debt collectors etc and it makes me sick!! When any individual plays this card it puts somebody who really needs help in jeopardy. Two weeks ago a friend who was a successful business woman ( 49 ) with beautiful kids committed suicide. The signs were missed how bad the demons actually were.

Many caring companies ( banks especially ) have specialist departments to deal with cases of mental health, cancer etc although with some understandably a hospital note in confidence needs to be forwarded for confirmation, These people get premium care and trained operators who show empathy and care. So they should.

Trouble with mental health though it’s not easy to evaluate the risk factor ie someone in debt could say it’s affecting their mental health where the next person is bottling it and have serious issues the demons are saying - end it!

A lot of shoppers though Omeg don’t notice price increases so much on certain things. For example you rarely see an increase on a bottle of your favourite wine. Very strategic!
