The Oakwell Summer Sh1tshow, plus a few other circumstances, mean the team rolling out tomorrow---

    1) Will have no Duff and Assistant. Despite him speaking with forked tongue about the long haul he was a good coach with experience in the lower EFL leagues capable of organising young free agent players into a team that had a routine to win games. Replaced by Collins and Stead who haven't been near the English game for several years.

    2) Will have lost two experienced keepers in Collins and Isted. Replaced by loanee Roberts who played four times in the Boro first team last season.

    3) Will have lost two key experienced defenders, Andersen (club captain) and best player plus Barry Thomas. Replaced by a non league punt from Woking

    4) Will not have Phillips (suspended) and Connell (still badly-bilious?) in midfield. Replaced maybe by want-away Styles and Russell.

    5) Will be without attack leader, the experienced Norwood, who lit up Wembley and was in form pre season. Replaced by non league punts/ Watters

Good luck with that Mr Collins, a victory nailed on. of course.

The "New Board" and Ahmad can no longer ride on the coat tails of Duff.

......and it will be p1ssing darn and windy. Fans can, of course, book in at the Legends Suite to get in the warm---just £108 each plus no refund on any existing ST.

    IMO 5-1
But BBC weather forecast says peeeing it darn all day.
Weather like that can be a leveller so owt could happen.

As for the Norwood decision - got to admit that the decision by the club is a very brave one.
They obviously have a big belief in what they are doing.

In Barnsley FC Data Services we must trust.

The first game of the season doesn't define the next 45 games as it didn't last season when we were well beaten at Plymouth Argyle .

It didn't the season before either when we gained a good point at Cardiff and look how that season ended up .

However the natives are restless , even the most let's say normally optimistic fan is slightly bewildered at the moment .

It could get very toxic very quickly at Oakwell and some of these new recruits could struggle as a consequence , they might struggle anyway but let's park that for now .

The HC too may well start to feel the heat before the month is out .

The club have taken some huge punts so far this summer , some real long odds horses in this race for the next 9 months .

I sincerely hope that they come off for the sake of the HC and the new lads and for the 9k who have once again backed the club with hard earned money .

If it goes spectacularly wrong it may be the beginning of the end for the ownership and could get proper toxic .

I've got us down for a 2-2 draw, however now Norwood has gone I see us losing this one!
I just hope the weather plays it's part to our benefit.
I see we have signed Devigney a centre back from Nimes, but he has arrived too late to take part.
I don't see our defence with a new keeper behind them and a Midfield without Luca being able to cope with Vale who have a counter attack policy with quick.players usually!

As per our CEO the ponty ends a sell out this afternoon !

There a lot of people who havent turned up then!

Anyway well done to the team on the first half but my god the squad looks wafer thin. Hope we can get away with 3 points here.
