Can you quote an actual post on here where somebody has said the new players are "poor".

Inexperienced, yes, need to develop yes, but "poor" no.
You are absolutely right SB, Nudge was probably having an indirect pop at me because I have been critical of the recruitment especially the replacements for last seasons departing central defence but I have constantly said that we have brought in potential with players yet not up to standard but I believe no one including myself have called the players poor , I have said the recruitment has been poor & stand bye that , these lads may eventually become top players but that is not what we need currently , we finished 4th last season & were a whisker away from promotion & we should have looked to kick on but the owners decided on a different route & in my book its the owners who are poor & at the moment I see nothing to change my mind .

Poor, inadequate or rubbish - words that mean the same thing.

I have not seen anything on here that says - ‘these new batch of players are good and given time they will be even better’.

What I have seen are things like this - the defenders are useless - the recruitment strategy is poor and not good enough.

This in my book, and I would guess everyone else reading it, equates to the players signed using this recruitment strategy are poor and not good enough.

This is contrary to my beliefs.
I think the recruitment strategy is brilliant.
The players signed this summer - coupled with the high level of talent that already existed at the club - should be top 4 or maybe top 2 by now.

    Individual talent is relatively high.
    The team is relatively average.

Shads - don’t think yourself singled out.
Not only you that’s been posting that line.
And BTW - I don’t have a ‘pop’ at anyone.

What’s this different route that you mention?
What different route has the owners taken us down with regards to the squad?

Because I can’t see any different route.

For example the defence which seems to get most of the attention currently on here.
There’s been no change in the route there.

Mads wanted to play in the Premier.
Kitchen wanted to play in the Championship.
    Bobby Thomas wasn’t our player.

The only change I can see is that FINALLY after all these years of more or less giving players away we are starting to ask top dollar for our players.
    Hooray!!!
It’s been a long time coming.
Another reason to be thankful for these present owners.

When there is criticism of the replacement signings you seem to conveniently miss out comments that accompany them in the form of , " raw potential "" , "might be fine in the future" , "not the finished article" etc etc, also like SB I have not seen any personal abuse such as calling a player useless , infact please back your comments up with proof of that because I cannot recall reading anything like that . I do believe the recruitment has been poor , note the word " recruitment " as I think we should have looked to have kicked on after last season & invested & by investment I do not mean spending millions I mean by recruiting loan players of the calibre that is required to improve us , they did it last year with Thomas & we could have look to bring loan recruits in from the Premier & championship , players who have some experience with the belief that these players can help us go that one step further this season but know they chose to go down the route of gambling with potential instead , and currently so far it is clear that it is not working . In my book these owners have only one eye on profit in the bank & not on the pitch , apart from the Crynes the others have no affinity to our club & have shown by their continuous blunders that they are out of their depth running a community based club like ours , I am convinced that under there stewardship we are only heading one way , this is only my opinion and speaking as a passionate Barnsley fan of well over 60 years I wish they would put the club up for sale , there is nothing wrong with putting there hands up and saying " we gave it a go and failed " and admitting that it might be in the interests of the club and fans to let someone else take over the running of our club .

Maybe you don't read all posts Nudge. I made comments about De Gevigney a couple of weeks ago (saying that he is steadily improving, reads the game well, can carry the ball and pass it). I seem to remember Doggy made similar comments. I said Shepherd appeared to have potential. So not negative comments. However, they're still not good enough yet for a promotion chasing side.
I also said that Williams should be moved to wing back, his natural position, and that another centre half should take his place. You appear to have missed these comments.
Other people have been critical of the defence but this has always been constructive from what I've read on here. Collins also bears some responsibility for the defence's performance because he's played Williams out of position and I did hope that he would be ideal for coaching the new defensive players because he's an ex defender.

    That’s reasonable Arbs.
They might be right what they say about defence being poor and recruitment being cr@p.
But I think they are wrong.

If posters think players are rubbish then they have every right to say so.

Its down to the players to prove them wrong. Improvement is very slow in showing itself in some cases.

Have to say I didnt rate Norwood when he arrived last season, how wrong can you be?

    Time will tell.

The recruitments this summer are bang average and that's complimentary .

A wing and a prayer scattergun approach and absolutely nothing near the standard required to get promoted from this league in my opinion .

The supporters were misled in to parting with their money on the back of these signings again in my opinion .

The French kid might have half a chance of the club making a profit on but the rest won't .

There isn't a scrap of ambition within the club , just as long as there's enough money to run the club that's deemed good enough and the only priority they have .

The club is dying a slow death , the atmosphere inside Oakwell these days is non existent , fans turning up out of duty rather than any excitement .

My prediction is the club will remain in league one for the foreseeable and attendances will drop firstly to 7k and then down to 5k .

It won't be long before Neerav and JAQ will look for an exit strategy as they lose interest .

It will probably be left to the Cryne Family to save the day .

    You read here first .
