We were fairly close to the issue in the East Stand/Smethwick corner. The trouble in the opposite corner seemed to incite the former incident with the police freely using batons in an endeavour to curtail the fracas. Initially it made matters worse with a number of riot police arriving on the side of the pitch.

It did indeed bring back sad memories of the past.

I sit in the West stand and was quite close to the trouble. Once the idiot Wolves fan started celebrating the second goal, a large number of young Albion fans from the Brum road came on the pitch to chant and confront the wolves fan. At first, their presence wasn't too much of an issue as the police were focused on getting the wolves fan(s) out of the west stand. However, once the wolves fan was removed, the police wanted the albion fans to return to their seats. I saw a couple of police lash out with batons, which turned the albion fans against them. The fans eventually were herded back to the Brum stand but it became very confrontational. They should have just returned to their seats but stood there shouting at the police etc. Sadly, I think we will face harsh punishment despite the wolves fan initiating the trouble.

Got to question why the stewards allowed many from the Brummie to invade that section. I sat next to it! Not seen Police getting punched and kicked like they were since the 80’s. Those who did this deserve prison sentences. Felt sorry for Bartley with wife and child in tears.

Football wise, we played ok, albeit lacked a clinical finish. A little more composure and we could easily have been 2 up.
Whist accepting the oddities of a cup match, there did not seem too much of a gap between us.
Similar performance next week should produce 3 points

Why is v ital been starred out ?.

This is ridiculous, its because V**ital is the name of another fans forum, which Footymad look at as a rival.
Its like a disgusting swear word to them!. 😬
