Looking forward to the Olympics now and hoping the sport is better than the opening ceremony - God only knows what it was like for the poor sods watching from the side of the Seine

Thought the horse on the Seine was impressive but, as with much of the "event", it took too long.

2 GB medals on the opening day. The first was a bronze from Yasmin Harper and Scarlett Mew Jensen in the women's 3m synchronised springboard. The other was a silver from Anna Henderson in the women's Time Trial. We might have had a 3rd from Joshua Tarling in the men's time trial who missed out on bronze by 2 seconds having had to change bikes during the race due to a puncture. That certainly cost him the bronze and it would have been touch and go for silver.

Thrilling Belgian GP, top six seperated by about ten seconds

As a side note, if y’all think our politics threads plumb the depths of unpleasantness, F1 Facebook groups leave our efforts standing, the hatred for anything and anyone not lauding Lewis Hamilton being something to experience

Russell disqualified, looks like the 1 stop gamble didn't pay off as was underweight and suggested down to tyres.
