Really pleased with this signing. We've had so much trouble in that department for a few years now, I can't remember the last time we had a couple of proper centre-backs with such good CVs. Another international on the books too... JB plays for Grenada.

The only downside to the signing is that he plays for Grenada and will therefore miss matches during the season. Is it three international call-ups you need before you can get a game postponed (not that we’d necessarily want to do that)?

    Yes, 3 call ups.

It's unlikely that JJ will play for Malta again under their current manager after he threw Jones under the bus when he refused his call up for a recent friendly

It may be unlikely that the current manager will be there for long if he persists with throwing his better players under a bus.

Exactly. This attitude may work for the France or Germany manager, but Malta have a tiny pool of players to work with, so to alienate JJ is baffling. He may not always be up for travelling across Europe for meaningless friendlies, but with his history of injuries I think it's understandable that he doesn't want to overload his schedule. Jodi's a League 2 player but we all know he could play much higher... Malta are very lucky to have him.

Seems like we have learned lessons from last season.
