Not a mystery really Chris, he was booed by our own 'fans' in a pre-season friendly away from home. Would the manager consider it a wise move to keep him in the fold? Would Wout himself want to play for fans who clearly didn't and don't want him at the club?
JUst like him, I would have buggered off somewhere else to play and enjoy my football, he certainly did his bit for Hoffenheim.

Yes, I know he wanted out. Connor Robert’s famously had a go at him when he scored against Wales.

I read once that some of the squad regarded him as «*too professional*», whatever that means.

Roberts had a go at him because he scored against them in the 4th minute of added time in the Nations League to put paid to any chance Wales had of going further in the competition, in fact, they were relegated to League B. You have to remember that all this happened after we had been relegated and Wout was going out on loan whatever happened to that he would be in contention for the World Cup.

He probably was too professional because he always wanted to be a winner and would not accept anything less from other players, even though we were going through a terrible patch. He obviously upset somebody because he was left out of the team, not that it did us any good.

A spectacular failure of player management if ever there was one. Not one of BFC's better ways to handle a player.

Sums it up perfectly Sub.He oozes passion and will to win every time he steps on the field. There was a lot of that missing last season.Roberts is a tool if you ask me and I would prefer him to leave the club.

Posted that a few times CIb - we had strikers who couldn’t score - were ill or injured and Weghorst would have been a solid squad member imo anyway.

Roberts is a decent player at championship level so
I’m torn a bit - his attitudes bad as he didn’t figure after bad mouthing VK when subbed but he can be a decent full back - he’ll go to Leeds I reckon should fit in nicely with the empty fans.

Full page article on Wout in this morning's Mail, very complimentary, should have added another couple of million to his value.

The Daily Mail used to have a great racing tipster in the seventies...Robin Goodfellow. My Dad followed him religiously. Think he's still going ,but obviously it's a different guy now. Lol

688,783 people a day according to the Press Gazette. The Grauniad no longer allows their circulation figures into the public domain, you can see why as the PG estimates it at around 60,000.
