I’ve a feeling we’ll still be using wing backs. That wasn’t the problem last year, it was the players playing wing backs. I’m hoping Tsaroulla won’t be supporting Jones in that role but taking over from him. Something like this would be good.

    …………………….Bass

    ……….Macari……Platt……..Bedeau

    Nemane ….Palmer……Robertson…….Tsar
    (atm)
    …………….Crowley…….Jones

    …………………….Macca

Or, I saw a suggested 4-3-3 which looked good too.

    ……………………Bass

    Macari………Platt………Bedeau…….Tsar

    ……………….…..Palmer
    ………Crowley ……………..Robertson

    ..Macca……….…Jatta………Jones

Maybe a bit lightweight in midfield but looks exciting.

Only if we want to sell him
He has a year left on his contract and from what I hear Jones would probably sign an extension if we made a decent offer

This lad is obviously well thought of to potentially give him 3 years but he seems a slightly strange signing to me and this isn’t me being negative about him it just seems a signing on paper we don’t need.
We already have Chicksen and Jones to play down the left, he is more attacking than defensive to suggest we could switch to a back 4 with him in it and it’s not like Jones isn’t good enough and needs replacing for another attacking wing back.
He seemed to be more a squad player at Crawley which if that’s the case for us it’s a potentially long contract. We also had the issue of not being physically up to the challenge of league 2 last season but this lad makes Crowley look a giant.
When I’ve seen him play he has looked good on the ball so I’m not saying he is a poor signing just one that is perplexing.

He wasn’t a squad player he played 43 games and over 3000 minutes in the league. If Jones or Nemane get injured are we really happy with Chicksen or Austin playing those postions for a number of games?
I think jones may be played as one of the 10s at times and tbf he will probably challenge Nemane anyway.

Squad player? he played 49 games last season - obviously come to provide support to both wingbacks / give us the option of moving Jodi forward, 3 years because likely it will be Chicksens (who will cover LC last season at Notts. Not the strange signing you make it out to be.
