I've put down 6th again but I have very low confidence in that number. I expect us to bring a few more in, no idea who or how good they'll be, and SM is an absolute wild card to me at the moment. I have no reason to believe he's a good head coach other than the owners' faith in it being so.

We also have a lot of new faces and have lost our best striker.

On paper though, we have a strong-ish squad and should be stronger by season start.

All up I have a poor idea of how we'll we're going to play this season, and very little confidence in any predictions.

Though I did back us at 17/1 to be champions
We only need to score 12-15 goals more than we concede to make the play offs.
Of course we will miss Langstaffs goals but he missed quite a few chances, his replacement in that position should be expected to get 60%-65% of his total. If the service on the right is improved, Nemanes assist stats are poor, that should help and its important it does as it is unlikely Jones will be as prolific, just the law of averages.
The biggest improvement though has to be at the back. If we cut out 50% of the unforce errors that should save us 10 goals. That and more robust defenders can hopefully see the goals against column reduce by circa 20 in total
Its probably going to be less exciting, but Im hoping we've got it right with the new keeper and defenders. Im going for Goals for 75, Goals against 60 Pts 77

this, there are so many unknowns it's especially hard to predict sensibly from this pre-season, but the club is ambitious and has invested already, so we should be looking at playoffs minimum, and I think they are.

The bros haven't got every decision right, recruitment has been inconsistent from genius, to wtf, but overall much better than Trews, Hardy, Trust...
and they got us back in the league in fun form. I think there's good reason to be confident about most of the unknowns going into next season.

The players we've signed (end of last and) pre-season look interesting, and they've mostly got good experience at decent levels in the right positions, but that's not always a good indicator of how they do at Notts. How much gelling will be needed for a start, and...

SM - hope he comes good for us, but still have no idea whether he can. Not many people get a career opportunity like he has here...so interesting on that level.

Also, not just where we end up in the table. Notts have been talking a lot about club identity. I'm really interested to see how that shapes up next season with all the changes, and how much LW will remain.

Still too any unknowns to predict with confidence. Assuming we bring in a few more players, I'll go for midtable, somewhere around 12th. A slight improvement on last year but another missed opportunity. The ultimate unknown is Maynard, of course, and only time will tell if he's up to it.

I’m going to say the same as last season, 5th.
However, I say it with less confidence.
It depends on the quality of another 2/3 signings and I trust the recruitment team.

    Lower mid table.

Completely new backline will take time to gel. We haven't strengthened elsewhere and appear to be relying on Jones being fit all season. Will be another failure by Montague if this is what we go with after the transfer deadline.

I’ve gone for 3rd, even if that is heart over head.

We should be much stronger at the back and in goal this season, but midfield currently looks light on quality (especially with the return of Matty Palmer an unknown right now) and we’ve lost the best striker in the league. If we fix those problems and - and this is the biggest question mark - SM proves to be as good as the Reedtz bros think he is, we’ll be good enough to go up. If we don’t fix them, we’ll end up mid-table again.

I also hope the training facilities are good enough, as something seems a little odd about that.

I will say 10th this year
Start off a little slowly due to the newish team, find our mojo around October just in time to keep the wolves from SM's door... a decent Jan and Feb will get our hopes up and then a good last 4/5 games but we will fall just short in the end.
